Anybody know what did the flyover at the BCS game at the Rose Bowl tonight? Couldn't make out what it was on television, but could certainly hear it from our house. Definately a military jet of some sort. Such a magical sound... Haven't been able to find anything on the web yet.

I wasn't paying close attention, but I only heard it, not sure they showed the planes.

They showed them but all you could see were the lights. A more versed person may be able to pick it up from that.

Not easy to tell from the flyover, but near the end of the video the announcer announces it..

Too bad they were so early - sort of ruins the effect.

(An aside - When F-16's from (I assume) Shaw AFB do the flyovers for the Carolina Panthers games here in Charlotte, most of the time they circle around waiting right above my house. Makes for an entertaining and noisy 10 minutes or so before the game - but they seem to usually be right on the money with the timing. Pretty interesting...)

At the local airshow here in Indy last year there was an F22 routine (likely similar to the one at Osh).

Pretty amazing demo of thrust vectoring capability,,,, and,,, the ability to turn tax dollars into NOISE!!!!! I loved every decibel of it...

The flyovers here at Indy for the races are usually timed exceptionally well. When the last note of the anthem it hit the planes are right over the start/finish line... Gotta love that too, makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck EVERY TIME...

Thing is pilots have a time hack to hit, and if the folks on the ground mess it up it's not going to be right.

Should have moved the game up 10 minutes so they could be seen; not just heard.

Outstanding. Good find. They sounded great from my house. Can't wait for Mirimar Air show again this year! Thanks.

They were F/A-18E/F models from NAS Lemoore, CA, I believe it was VFA-122. They pre-positioned at Burbank, and departed from there for the fly over. Too bad the timing wasn't that good because night fly overs are pretty amazing to see, especially with the AB's lit.

They were F18s and they did punch the ABers about the 50 yard line. They came in with their NAV lights on and left with the ABers blazing.

Not that we condone low passes (well maybe we do, we just can't say so in public)..

But here are 10 excellent low passes

Nothing like a jet at 10ft and 400+ mph in full AB to make your day...
