Hello all, Looking to install a set of 18" 360 Modena wheels on my 1982 308. Fronts are 7.5" wide with 215/45/18 tires and rears are 10" wide with 275/40/18 tires. What will it take to install these on my car? Will the rears even physically fit? I have seen other 308's and some Mondials with these wheels installed, so I know that it's possible. Do you need spacers? Are special or original 360 lug bolts needed? Are people running 4 front wheels to fit on these particular model of cars? Any advice/info would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
To run 360 wheels with stock tires sizes front and rear you need 30mm spacers and 355 lugs both from Hill Engineering or Ricambi. I believe they are 52mm bolts. Cheers
Don't do it. Sorry, it just looks <wrong> 18" wheels are too big for the diminutive 308. Buy the replica 16" wheels or if you have to have aftermarket wheels, the Compomotive 17' 288GTO lookalikes.
I went new rear narrow shocks with 15mm spacer, To go the other way mentioned you have to raise the rear end to clear the fender lips. Personally I don't like the car with a higher ride height. You can't get those large rears to fit without raising the car. You have to get the wheel away from the shock because of interference so the moment you add the spacers for shock clearance the rear hits the wheel lip. PM me and explain what I did, costs more!
I like it with 18' wheels. I like cars that are modified, stock wheels looks like everyone elses car, Stock wheels are ok, it's a personal thing. All my three cars pitched the stock wheels!
I dont know where u get this info? My car is actually lower than stock and it does not hit any wheel or fender lips and the wheels have been on the car 8 years. I would know if it was hitting. Cheers
Like I said on another thread on this where you mentioned the same thing that you have done it on your car, but I can't do it on my car. There are others here that have tried to do it and they have to cut rear wheels to make them fit. I have tied to put the stock uncut 10 in. rear on my 308 and the wheel hits the spring, when I put a spacer on it the tire interferes with the fender. This happens on both sides. This is with the stock koni shock and spring the spring/shock diameter is the problem, I use a narrow body Advanced Racing Shock with a narrow spring and a 15 mm spacer. This setup gets me what I need to make it work, I'm still puzzled on how you did it without interference and not raising the car. The wheels have been on the car 8 years, they don't stick out and they did not interfere with the stock suspension nor the new Qa1, Eibach and custom control a-arm setup. Simple as that. Read the article in Forza on my car in April 2006. Zach Mayne drove the car and photographed it and has asked to do a follow up on the car with the new suspension, rear brakes, new ball-bearing turbo and other improvements I have done since the article. He did not mention any grinding noises or interferance. The fender lips are not shaved nor has the paint been rubbed off. He drove the car very hard to redline and torque steered it on boost around corners, if there was a problem with interferance and clearance it would have revealed itself under those conditions. I cant speak for your car but I can certainly speak for mine! Cheers

Thanks, your links show exactly what I'm talking about, you have experienced the same issues. To make it LOOK RIGHT, either you cut the wheel, move the shock attachment location, or use skinny shocks and springs with a narrow spacer. There are different solutions to solve putting a 10.5 in wheel/tire on a 308. I wanted my 10.5 in uncut wheel with tire completely on the inside of the wheel arch lip not under it, and the route I took does exactly that without cutting the wheel. Those wheels look OK - I think the 360 wheels are a bit too "pointy" on the 308/328. The other thing is you have upgraded the brakes. A wheel upgrade on a 308/328 looks daft without a corresponding brake upgrade.
I really like the 550 wheels on the 308, Chris did his after I already bought a set of 360 wheels. Wheels are a very subjective part of a vehicle, in reality the 360 wheel looks good on a 308. In the beginning while trying to decide what wheel I wanted on my 308 I had mix feelings about th 360 wheel. I liked the wheel on a 360 but I wasn't 100% sure about it on a 308. I was making my decision based on pictures here on Chat, I decided to go for it and in real life they look great. Being a retired auto designer, wheels play a big part in how the car looks, that's why so many wheels are offered out there. Pick the one you like and go for it, as long as your happy with it that's all that matters.
Thanks everyone for the info and the links. This was very helpful! At least I now know what I am up against when installing these wheels. I was hoping that I'd only have to buy/install spacers and lugs. I'm not sure if I want to go through modifying the shocks or the outside lip of the wheel well. Cutting the 10" rear wheels would probably be a good option for me since I would like to leave the car itself unmodified. TURBOQV........I'm not sure what's happening with your car and how yours worked out so well. From reading the responses here and some other online experiences of other people, I don't think I am going to be as lucky as you! It seems that everyone needs to do the modifications similar to what F&M Racing has done. Thanks again for all of the great info everyone!
I agree...........wheels are pretty much a personal touch type of thing. I like the larger 18" wheels since it really gives the car a more "modern" touch. I personally feel that the style of the 360's "fit" the 308 quite well. The best part I like is that they are factory parts. I am generally not a big fan of aftermarket wheels, even though there are some that really do look nice!

Tough choice. All have their merits. While we are at it..... Maybe someone can post pictures of some 18" spinner wheels on their Fcar. Or more properly, a video..... Doug
Wheels are a personal thing. Do what you like. Be sure to keep the original wheels though. Don't sell them.
