Maybe we can have a local group drive to Monterey, something like that?

I'm in for a drive from wherever. Safety in numbers :D I'm thinking 395, or even better hiway 50. Yes, the loneliest hiway suits the F40 perfectly ;)

I'll be driving down 101 from Seattle. Anyone from WA, OR, or NorCal who wants to meet up along the way would be welcome travel companions - and how cool would it be to have a shot of multiple F40s in front of that huge Paul Bunyan statue, or driving through the drive-thru tree at Trees of Mystery! :)

Our car (#90568) will probably be in Bend, Oregon. If not, it will be in Berkeley, CA. A caravan would be hella sweet. What's our total participant count so far?

28-29 so far...now that a venue is set, the focus is on the redoubled recruitment of cars and owners.

Exciting stuff guys, the spirit of the group is fantastic :)

    Ferrari F40 Owners Convene
    at Concorso Italiano 2010!

The Ferrari F40 Reunion Group has announced their intention to join Concorso Italiano in celebrating 20 Years of the Ferrari F40 in the USA. This is the second in a series of reunions of Ferrari supercars to be held at Concorso. The first Ferrari supercar, the 288 GTO held its 25th anniversary reunion at Concorso in 2009. The GTO owners set a world record for the largest gathering of 288 GTO’s in one location. The successor to the 288 is the iconic F40. The F40 owners will have their reunion at Concorso, and according to spokesman and owner Jas Dhillon, they have ambitious aspirations. “Our goal is to have well over forty F40s on the fairways at Laguna Seca Golf Ranch this August 13th and we hope that fans and enthusiasts will plan to join us for this historic occasion.”

Do we see a F50 & Enzo reunion coming in the future?

    Tom McDowell
    President, Concorso Italiano

Christian, hope to see you there !

There are approx 30 cars committed as of now...I'm sure we will add some and some others may not make it as plans change, so the final number will only be known on the day. Regardless of the final tally, whether there are 10 cars or 40, the goal is to make new friendships and celebrate the car...the spirit of the group thus far gathered suggests its going to be a fantastic time :)

I have said it before (see above) and I will happily repeat it here and often...Rob, thank you for your support of this event, for creating a forum that brings Ferrari enthusiasts together from around the world. The amount of knowledge, passion, enthusiasm and love for Ferrari that Fchat has propagated around the world is incalculable. I know that I speak for all of the F40 owners when I say we are deeply appreciative of your support....THANK YOU ROB :)

I sent you a pm a while back to discuss a more prominent official role for fchat...you may have missed it. I would be more than happy to discuss any ideas and hopefully we can incorporate them into this event soon.

The following text is a pm that was sent to Rob Lay on 9-17-09...it speaks for itself and illustrates the true spirit intended. Sometimes people like to create drama where none exists :)

    "Hi Rob,

I hope all is well. I just wanted to update you on whats happening with the F40 event. It looks like Concorso will be the host site (this is verbally agreed upon and the owner of Concorso is currently travelling to Italy). We will announce this once things are finalised in the next couple of weeks.

We are still working on the track side of things at Laguna Seca, but it is certainly very promising. A change in ownership of the Historics is muddling things a bit, but its early and I'm sure the prospect of many F40's together on the track will be inticing

Once a few more details are settled in the next 2 weeks, I think your idea of a dedicated thread would be a great way to drum up interest and propagate concrete information. I appreciate your offer to do this, and we can figure out the best way to acknowledge your support and sponsorship. I am open to all suggestions from you. Lets work together to make this the best gathering of F40's ever. So far we have about 25 cars committed with more in the pipeline...the key of course will be getting them all there

    thanks for your support Rob,

    Jas "

Sent on 9-17-09 at 5pm...it is what it is.
