Quick question for you all: Does any of you have upholstery material like this one in our car? All mats in my car is this material trunk and everything. And I hate it! hideous stuff... I am actually pulling it out from car and make upholstery from material that most of cars used to have. One thing is sure this is original material from factory, there are only one coat of glue and in certain places it is made like only factory would. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ah I see you have the dreaded 'mottled' carpeting which the factory used on occasion when the normal supplier refused to send the standard stuff on account! But seriously, yes Ive seen this type, and I agree with you, it is rather less than impeccable taste or quality!
As I suspect... Thanks! There are some occasion where you have to respect original stuff, but I have made decision; Old office carpet just have to go! http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u84/unknow82/Ct/kojelauta8.jpg I am going to fix dash also: http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u84/unknow82/Ct/kojelauta.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u84/unknow82/Ct/kojelauta6.jpg

No-one? Here it is: Part of ignition, or airpump "rewlimiter". I guess the company that made this part has won price competision with questionable method. Factory probably did not know how this part was done. All these things; floormat, guestionable subcontractor, workers buying parts with cash to get cars out. Makes you think how "knifes edge" whole comppany was and still they made these cars, they did not just let the factory go. Image Unavailable, Please Login
What you have there is that they fabricated a "gasket" or paper protection with a sheet of paper that was a form for calculating the cost of a work order. Obviously this is one of the first examples of a Green Oriented Company - back in 1982! Amazing. Alex
Looks like (as of Oct 25, 2009 anyway) she's still out at the California Auto Museum http://www.toweautomuseum.org/html/display.html in Sacramento. Hope she sees the road again.
