Always wondered which car is better overall in terms of cachet and reliability. I am torn between getting a Ferrari (F430/360) or a Lamborghini Gallardo.

Which car is better built and lower cost to maintain and more reliable? I like Ferrari's racing F1 heritage which Lamborghini lacks but prefer the space ship design of the Lambo. Since I would take the car to the track Ferrari has the advantage but for weekend events the Lambo gets more attention.

Posting this question on a Ferrari bulletin board like this one is going to get you a predictable answer. Post the same question on a Lamborghini bulletin board and you're likely to get a predictable, but different, answer there, too.

    Surprised?

Well they are different answers to the sports car question and at the end of the day which is better depends on your circumstance and what you are looking for in a sports/supercar.

I suggest that this thread be locked so as not to clog cyberspace with useless drivel.

    Seconded.

If the OP still wants information, he can search for this one - it's already on the forum in hundreds of threads. I think it's a case of lazily starting a new thread rather than putting in any effort.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

    LOL! :D

Oh yea... haven't you got a Porsche Carrera GT? I'm sure we can let you get away with that one little indiscretion, given your impressive collection of Ferraris. ;)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Bring a blood pressure monitor with you and drive both cars- the one that makes your heart beat faster, is the correct car for you.

This question would be like asking, which is a better woman; a blonde, brunette or redhead?

I get the vibe your biggest concern is attracting attention and getting the ladies. From a recent event that had numerous exotics I found the biggest attention getter and the one the women and children went crazy over was the Smart. You'll be back at your roots from years ago and not spend a lot of money and you'll be the center of attention, especially at exotic events. And with the money left over you can get a Miata or 924 for track days.

Are you more concerned with impressing others, or yourself?

In a modern Ferrari vs Lambo, the differences are totally cosmetic. For instance if you buy a Lambo, you will find yourself wearing Italian shoes, color co-ordinated clothing, and big gold rings and chains.
If you buy a Ferrari you will suddenly lust after Ferrari logo baseball caps, Puma Shoes, and designer jeans.

Now if you go for Vintage, you will pretty much be on even ground. No cap, levi 501's, no logo t shirt, and sneakers, with either car.

So it really depends on your fashion desire's.
