    I doubt that. What F1 needs is less dependence on wings and diffusers. Ground effects and smaller wings is the way to go.

    Because, at the time, 1978 to 1983, they made the cars go faster around corners which caused a lot of accidents. The ground effects worked well until the "vacuum" effect was broken by contact or whatever and the car's aerodynamics would act in the reverse way and send the car into the air. Today's cars are safer and have larger wings than they had back then which would keep that from happening if they were to be used now. the problem there was that the car were run extremely low. Today's ground effects cars are run a bit higher to lessen the effect.

    It's really crazy when they say pre season that the cars will be slower than the previous season, but within 5-6 races, they're already faster than previous season.
