yeh i believe so. but in all fairness i went with him and ban huat(gt3) on a short blast to kulai, b-roads to kluang n fast blast back n-s. n the old thing (imean the 348 not joseph who did even better!)acquitted itself very well. no mechanical issues at all n with quicksilver exhaust sounded great at 250kmh. not sure u can use 348 as a good barometer of ferraris. it was one of those blips between 328 n 355 when ferrari were a bit off the ball . i had one for a year- my first ferrari- not sure i would have preferred a 993 tho the latter probably wld've had less issues- just that the porsches hv too little physical n auditory drama-in a way too good - get in n drive, no sense of occasion

There is a chance cars in general can catch fire. If I remember correctly, there were also BMW and Mercedes that caught fire in the past! Jon, you mentioned a really important point about Derek's F430 clutch job not done properly! Derek, when your F430 had problems at Sepang was it on the new clutch or still on the previous clutch?
The Sepang problem was pre clutch change .. it was done first first week of Dec and has been to KL & done a B road run since without a hiccup.
Jon, this sounds rather confusing. It sounds like its too hard on normal road condition yet just right on uneven roads in KL! Probably rebound is good but compression too hard! I may be wrong though, always get confuse with the details.
When I was young, I went to some of the Ferrari Challenge races with my cousin and since then I told myself I got to participate when I grow up! Until today, I can still remember the sound of the challenge cars clearly! Simply the best!

Yeah, I hear you mate. Coming from the old days when I loved playing with radio controlled cars, I guess I just love learning a course and driving around it in circles and gradually learning the nuances of my car at that particular track. Also agree that alot of the skills learned and timing improvements will come from learning a specific track (I am not interested in modifying the RS), but also feel that a lot of feeling how the car reacts on the limit can only ever be gained on the track... for me at least.... Heck ... starting at such a low base, anything I do can only improve my chances of survival on the road . Also just really enjoy treating my cars like biatches.... kinda comes from all the KTV training I guess hahaha... But fully agree that pose pose is also great fun.... just back from 1-26 and there was an orange Murci (looked almost exactly like Phil's 640). Heck that is one beautiful beast... I am totally all for real exotic cars (of which Porsche really doesn't cut it). Please understand that I love a tubi on a Ferrari screaming down the road as much as the next guy with any sense or a Kriesseg exhaust screaming blue murder out the back of a Superleg.... but given my limited budget and desire to track more than cruise or autobahn run at the moment makes me such a believer in the little ugly german work horse.... Having said that, I also love to just hang with friends at a car park (preferably Big Splash ) and chat about cars as well as look at what guys have done to their cars.... and yes.... I never bother a second glance at a Porker.... but always look at the Ferraris, Lambos, Astons and yes even the R8.... so I know where you are coming from mate and say kudos for having the taste to buy beautiful Italian machinery even if you choose not to track it... heck.... you dont need to track an italian car to enjoy it... as you say... each drive is an event in itself.... even a trip to get milk....
Ok. Now you know its not a bad clutch job. Probably some sensors or something has intermediate problems and this is usually a pain as its hard to diagnose! Somehow everytime you send it in its behaving properly
Oh now you confuse me! Rebound & compression two diff things?? Yeah, I'll do more test & see how it goes. Love the bright headlamp though, people give way automatically & the power's not bad @ all but still miss the big fat torque of my exes. A little problem I realised is that the yellow is simply too bling for this country!
Other way around mate.... rebound needs to be controlled better, as that is what is causing the pogo effect... the car takes the hit, the springs compress, the damper slows the rate of compression, then in order to not bounce back up too suddenly, the rebound needs to be sufficiently resisted....
am tempted to try but not sure if it will affect overall feel/feedback. altho re11 very good , i think cant compare with semi slick in dry
Yes! I would say quite a number of us enjoy driving our cars around, they are really nice cars to drive even just driving around our small island! To track the cars and go for driving courses, of course we are also interested in doing so! It is awesome, for the interest, fun, enjoyment, etc!

agree, the 348 was the red headed child of the Ferrari range.... with very bad road manners at the limit. yup, by the time Joseph got the 348 it had pretty much had all the mechanical issues sorted fully.... my bank balance can attest to that....
