    The Lamborghini Registry is Glen's thing. I'm just a major contributor to the Miura & Countach registries, but am not responsible for the inclusion of all the cars.

    However, my own Miura register mirror's that of the factory's original production list, so I do indeed have this car.

    Production number 254.

    Outside Town Hall in Stockport England, minutes after an accident happened to Miura P400 chassis #3027, engine #1130, production #26, built 9th June 1967 delivered to Norwich, UK-registered WGC 527 G. This was in 1972.

    The first Miura in England. I think.

    Seems like a very early car to have chrome trim and round hole steering wheel. I had thought they starting using that (much) later than car #26.

    Correct Alberto, the chrome trim and 'wheel are definitely post-production "upgrades".
    This accident and the resultant images are from 1972 when 3027 was 5 years old.
    P400S with chrome trim was the norm from 1969 on when 3027 was 2 years old.
    Interestingly, by October the 8th 1969 Drummond had already moved on to P400S chassis number 4256, so at the time of these images the car was either in possession of a subsequent owner or the Lamborghini dealer, either of whom decided to 'modernize' it a bit.
    If you look at the center console etc you're left in no doubt that's a P400.
    Also look at the tail in the pic where its being towed away. The lack of "Lamborghini" badge suggestive its a very early P400 (just the 26th in fact) as some of them had the script left off as you probably know.
    Interesting too that when Omicron restored the car they put it back to P400 satin black trim.

    Just when the Lamborghini script began appearing on the backs of Miuras is something I have wondered about previously, two of the others are:

    #1 - very early cars seem to have no headrests; when did headrests start to appear?

    #2 - very early cars also seem to have the wood steering wheel with 2 slates in each spoke as opposed to the 'swiss cheese' wheel that is more common; when did the 'swiss cheese' start to show?

    The photo in post #7115 shows #3027 (production #26) moments after an accident in 1972. This car has a 'swiss cheese' steering wheel and chrome trim (as opposed to black) which I thought were characteristics of later cars, if not Miura S. However, it does not appear to have the passenger assist on the center console.... which I thought was indicative of an early car.

    Seems Miuras all have their own "personalities"! : )

    My observations and understanding.

    1) From what I have seen only the Miura prototype did not have headrests. 0706 is one of the first cars and it has headrests. Although, I have found photos of the protoype are everywhere making it appear like there are more cars out there without headrests.

    2) The best I can tell is that the change from slated wood wheel to swiss cheese leather wheel occured just prior to the time the chassis metal thickness was changed or around the 125th car made.
