DC-3 Flight July 1979

Dug out some old pictures of when I was an exchange student in Guatemala.

Clearly remember flying in this DC-3, what was then GUA-FRS Guatemala City to Flores - on the way to Tikal. Even as a seasoned flyer (in the 8th grade, my Mom worked for Eastern), I wasn't too comfortable with this flight.

Not nearly as modern as our Eastern Airlines 727 flight from MIA to GUA earlier in the month..

Can anyone identify the type of plane in the second picture? Some model of ATR?

We rode that thing from the dirt strip you see in the middle of the Guatemalan jungle to GUA returning from Tikal.

Thanks! You fixed my 31 year old yellowing picture - what did you use?

 

Very basic HP Image Zone. The bluest filter available plus some tweaking of the color temperature. The Photoshop folks could do more.
