The extra low-profile tires look odd!

    Indeed.

I wonder if there's really any advantage. . . Seems that if you want lower profile tires, you'd want a bigger wheel, but nobody's probably going to do THAT to a GTO.

Just curious, are there any photos out there of GTOs with aftermarket wheels?

You'll have to do a search, but yes, there is one particular Japanese car somewhere within this thread with larger wheels.

I think this car was tracked by the owner. In those days I also noticed these low-profile tires on tracked Testarossas.

The owner was Auto-Becker, formerly the German Ferrari importer in Düsseldorf. It wasn't tracked. However, for those that were not around in those years, such low profile tires had just become very fashionable as they looked more spectacular (for some people) and more "racy".

If it wasn't tracked then it must just be the low picture quality because the tyres on the Auto-Becker car 'look' like slicks.

    Obviously just grainy pictures....

I'm assuming from the date code that this was taken in 2009?

    Hi at all,

    to correct some mistakes here:

The German-Meshs were fitted in the factory already and some GTOs have Aluminium-Doors. Because the GTOs delivered to Autoexpo had them already on the trailer!!

May be a repost, but do you have already seen this car ???

According to another forum, this could a be a real GTO, rebuild after a crash ...

That looks like a 308 with a kit.
