F1 movie?

I think the Senna movie is being made but it's become a documentary.

 

There would never be a "warts and all" Senna movie if the family was involved which they naturally would be. There are several unauthorized books that haven't been translated to English (Ayrton, o Herói Revelado for example) that go deeply into Senna's personal life including his messy love life. Some of the things I was quite surprised by. Things like that could make a potential Senna movie very interesting in terms of a plot but I would doubt his family would let it see the light of day. if you've ever seen any of the authorized bio's, then you'll know what I mean.

 

People have criticized Driven for its CGI and some of it does look fake (not all though). OTOH look at the super slow mo stutter shots of the Le Mans accident: You can see the fibreglass skins of the replica cars warp. Real cars would not deform like that.

Similar comments can be made for some of the more goofy shots from Grand Prix, e.g. the car that drives into the harbor at Monaco.

Just don't let Piquet write the script.

True, but Bruno hasn't run in F1 yet(and probably won't) and he's a nephew, not a son.

 

true, but in GP2 Piquet JR was Hamilton's closest rival. Bruno Senna just doesn't cut it that well...

 

I will admit, I'm biased and want him to make it, but Bruno always seemed to be pretty fast in the race but tended not to qualify well which hurt him.

LOL, I know you mean Senna's nephew. There is footage of Ayrton and his nephew on water skis in one of his documentaries (A Star Named Senna or Racing is in my Blood, I don't remember which).

I personally don't believe Bruno possesses the same amount of talent as Ayrton. Then again I don't believe Ralf had the same amount of talent as Michael either...

 

Well who does have the same amount of talent as Ayrton did? They can't all be Sennas, Prosts or Schumis. F1 needs Bergers, Barrichellos, and Webbers too.

 

How about a film on the life of F1's very own "Schuey Balboa"?. Plenty of story lines, from stealing a rivals girlfriend to controversies on track, right up to a come back after three years away.

I can see the ending now, on the top step of the podium at the end of the last race of the season, arm aloft shouting: "CORINNA!, CORINNA!........ I DID IT!"

No, I know the affair you are talking about. Piquet Sr's GF at the time and Nelson Jr's mother, Catherine something or other was romantically involved with Senna at some time as well. There was conjuncture that it might have happened at the same time that she was with Piquet, but I don't know for sure.
