I did a F430 search on Carpoint and was quite surprised that of the 24 currently for sale, ONLY 2 are manual. 1 x Black and 1 x Yellow, not even a Red one.

    What's this world coming to?

    Bob.

    2 factors I think:

    1. it's summer holiday time, not much point advertising a car while most people are at the beach.

    2. all the bankers/lawyers/advertising guys are getting jobs again, so they can afford their lease payments

Are you surprised there are actually 2 available? haha.

Some other thread we discussed that the % was around 90% for 430.

At least in a few years time you won't have a dilemma since they stopped offering manual in the 458

Perhaps the manuals will become collectors items? Then again maybe the next generation won;t be into "driving" the cars.

I know I'm like a broken record player but if you look at the video Scud posted on the 458 earlier, it didn't look that interesting with the guy driving. Just seemed to sit there like a robot and move his fingers. Imagine having to take you hand off the wheel to rip the stick into the next gear through the gate. Oh yeah, now THATS driving. :D

imagine a car that goes from 50 to 130mph in 3rd gear and shoves your head back while it's doing it?

Ferrari could sell you one in 1968....

If anything that will be because the F1 box will be anabsolute nightmare if it breaks because it'll be too expensive to fix, or replace. Or even worse it could be like the 456 auto where it can't even be fixed and theres no replacements around.

I can see people wanting manuals for that reason alone

Had a chat with a Ferrari mechanic who has two cars in for servicing that were bought recently. Pricing might be of interest to some and just goes to show asking prices for most currently listed Ferraris are in dreamland

    1. 1989 Aussie delivered 328GTS, full books/servicing history and no issues - $75k

    2. 1972 246GT UK delivery, some rust $175k (was listed at $225K)

I've done the sums. More like $120-130 for a 40kGBP 550. with all taxes/shipping and compliance costs. RAWS compliance cost alone is at least $22k. Still might be a worthwhile exercise if you find the right car. Got my broker in the UK looking right now ;)
