A funny story to share with you guys. Someone I know was visiting over one day (25 years old) and he was asking me about my 308 - everything was going well, until he asked me about the jet fuel that my car takes and where I buy it, ha, ha. He was serious. I had a good laugh.

When I couldn't get the Shell oil for my Alfa at gas stations, I was buying it, for a while, at the airport. (AeroShell)

But that was more than 25 years ago, so he couldn't have been thinking of that. :p

Some guys were buying 100LL avgas for their race cars, back then, though.

Ha Ha. That's funny. Never heard that before. Car won't run on Jet fuel at all. Use it in your Kerosene heater. LOL

Help me get this thing finished! https://gofund.me/39def36c
One day when we were kids my sister ran the mower out of gas so she went to the garage and got more and finished up the law. Next time it was time to mower the mower just wouldn’t start…..she had filled it with kerosene. It was a flathead with a pretty low compression ratio so no harm was done.

Years later I had a 1936 JD tractor that had a 5 gal tank for kerosene and a 1/2 gal tank for gas. You turn on the gas and start the engine then switch to the kerosene and be on your way. Apparently gasoline was quite expensive compared to kerosene. This engine was however a flathead with about a 4:1 or 5:1 compression ratio so it worked on 50 octane.

So, if the engine is warm when you pour it in then it'll run......it will however knock like a mother. Jet fuel is about 50 octane.

Ran Paint thiner in the mower once - desperate times, had to finish just a short bit - knocked like a mother, won't do that again.
