I know the owner of 1121030 quite well, that's not about the price, he doesn't need the money, we talked a long time about a possible sale, he had offers before, one from M.B.
But the point is, you have then the money you got for one of the most seldom Countach now what to buy next, there is nothing around he could replace his unique car with a similar Lambo.
Conclusion of our discussion was that we both have unique cars which are very hard to replace, so we keep them.

Why? Did the car say that? It's just a VIN.

Thank you for the encouragement Joe. As I have mentionned in the past my not being able to swing the Countach of my dreams is hardly a tradgedy so maybe it will take a little longer thats all. I would prefer to steer clear of the super special Countaches because I drive my cars a lot and I'd prefer to restore and wear out a non original car rather than burn up an original example. I'll leave that luxury to the super wealthy enthusiast. The blue/white S1 at Gary's place looked like a good car for me. A solid driver that can be restored as it is enjoyed. I like cars where you can do projects here and there with minimum time off the road. Extensive tear down restorations are not my bag at this stage of my life.

That price seems more realistic in todays market and sounds like a recent "comp". Any chance you have pictures ? For $200K-$300K I don't think so.

Is that Blue/wht/wht, that Gary worked on in the video, for sale? Someone had just bought it and brought to him.

I am referring to the sale of the car before Gary got started with it. I'm not sure what the current status of the car is.

On the other hand here is one right in my price range:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1987-lamborghini-countach-tube-frame-race-car-or_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2c52a1dfecQQitemZ190364901356QQptZSalvageQ5fPartsQ5fCars

Then again it may be a bit too much of a fixer upper even for me ;)

That's battles me. Was it ordered with the roof? Because I have the earliest Series One (on the road) and I WISH I had that roof.

Evans said something to me about a Countach reunion at his car show
later this year. I guess I missed the stereo talk a few days ago but I have the
same question. What original radio for a 1988? I don't think it matters as far as the
radio but it is a Euro car. (A picture would be great)

After thinking about it and being a Series One owner, that price is not believable unless there was something wrong with it. There is no proof that it sold for that amount. Or, it was a desperation sale. Joe and others have verified sales numbers and IF this is the NICEST, it wasn't advertised properly. ALOT of people want Series Ones. I was offered double that (as is condition) in 2009, so it doesn't make sense. And if it doesn't make sense, pretty much bet it's not true. Sounds like it's being talked down for someone looking to buy?
I do remember the red ebay car but there was something not right about it.
Who's saying it's a secret? The owner, yes, that's ok but the car??? Why even come on here, amongst Countach owners who, are graciously very open, and say the car is a secret. I call bullsh**.

Dont think so. Cant be a comp in the marketplace without identity.

Allow me to illustrate by using this hypothetical example, say if you had a house for sale at $3 m.

Buyer: Well, one sold for $1.85 m right there in your neighborhood, so the comps say yours is too expensive.

You: Really which one sold for $1.85 m?

Buyer: Sorry cant tell you, house identity confidential.

Tell me your conclusion would not be to ask the aforementioned buyer to go pound sand with his meaningless statement about market.

So, what I'm saying is that in a discussion about prices & values, a statement of value about the market means nothing at all if its not attached to a specific identifiable item, thus allowing others to assess if same has merit.

By the way, I will also say this: IMO if a true Series One (one of the 50-odd cars up to Mike P's 1121100) in "nice" condition sold for $185k, the seller absolutely gave it away.
