Has anyone heard of a chain timing belt upgrade being done on a 360?

    just curious if someone makes it or has done it? seems like it would make a rock solid car even more bullet proof :)

    what is the point? The belts aren't really much of a weak link if you ask me.

    Extensive re-engineering would be required as chain drive of cams requires oil lubrication and since the 360's design has the timing belts on the exterior of the engine it would be a major job to achieve.

    Nice thought though!

    going froma 360 to a 430 is a 50k option lol, i was seeing if there was a 5k option at worst haha, but i agree, 430 is next on my list

    The 360 is a wonderful machine but the 430 is worth every penny.

    For the cost to develop/manufacture a timing chain 'upgrade' for the 360 you could get a lifetime of major services on your 360! :eek::eek:

    Nice idea though and I actually thought I saw a thread here on Fchat where a 308 owner was considering or actually MAKING a timing chain conversion for his 308? :):)

    Dont quote me though, I could be wrong. ;);)

    Weight, and changes not recommended by F is not a good idea. It's just too much to buy a new engine if you ask me.
