Yep, we're going to have multiple set ups with the Motec. All changeable via a switch in the car.

    1. Scuderia buster (Full power)
    2. Hot chili special (flames out the back)
    3. Fast road
    4. 355 special (for posing only)

Unfortunatly due to old age and a bad neck, I have been forced to get some power assistance. :(

However, this system is used on some current Le Mans racers. It is an adjustable system and can be switched off. http://www.wiringlooms.com/EPAS.aspx

So stick that where the sun don't shine!! Na na na naaa na

Great pics of the Totip LM car!! Great shot of the engine lay out to. So it shows that the engine lid can be left as.
Bit confused over the engine output though. The builders of Sys engine claims over 450bhp?
Sy have you documentation of this?

    Thanks for the pictures Lou.

Have you got one of the rear engine lid badge?

I don't think that's the same engine at all. No documentation as yet, it's all being done on trust. We'll know for sure when we put the car on the dyno hopefully next month.

In the last picture you can see it's labeled : 348GT competizione
Although there's another shot of another car that is labeled: 348LM It's also present in the text....although the text is in Japanese and just 348LM sticks out. There's also mention of 348GT/C LM. Will try to take a pic of the pic tomorrow. Not a great shot and hard to see the labeling. I hope this helps......Lou

Again, a pic of a pic. So not the greatest. But it's definitely 348LM. Whether it's a badge like the other cars, or a sticker......hard to say. Looks cool though..........Lou

Bought a "348Spider" badge for my car. Not sure if I'll put in on though. Any thoughts???

The camber on those rear wheels looks insane! :D

Surely the tyres wouldn't wear evenly...

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Just the angle the picture was taken. Yes the camber is quite extreme still but the wear should be even. I am guessing this was in a tighter track.

Engine is still crated up. haven't managed to get much done due to the weather.

We are going to the autosport sport show on friday where we'll be meeting uop with a few companies to discuss the project with. This includes the company that will be providing the engine sensors.

The dampers are ready, just waiting for the springs now. Hopefully pick the items up next week.

Looking at late feb/early march completion now.

I guess it's no real surprise to you (or anyone) that it hasn't come together as quickly as first envisaged.

Looking forward to regular updates and pics as you gather momentum.

Went to the autosport show today and met up with a few automotive service companies. One of them was zircotec who do the high temprature coatings.

The plan is to coat the entire exhaust system in the stuff. Manifolds, hyperflows and tubi exhaust. We should get anything up to 50d reduction in engine bay heat.

    Any suggestions as to colour?

Are you looking for style over function? Personally I'm not into bling and would go with the chromed/silver look but I can see the appeal of one or two of the other colours. Red headers would probably look pretty cool but you'd want to make sure they matched the engine colour. Not sure if the entire system would look great in any colour other than the chrome/silver though.

    Anyway, please yourself!

We'll probably do the official launch on 1st May 210 at the Auto Italia show.

I'm also planning on doing a video feature on the car as well and interviewing evryone that has worked on it or supplied parts.

    Silver may get dirty quickly.

I found the engineering show more interesting than the rest of the show.

I can't comment as my wife may read this thread.

I think Nero would show up teh dirt even more than silver. But it would look cool.

The engine needs to look good. I quite like the red, but it would look out of place next to the red cam covers. Unless I have them coated as well.

    You dirty old man!!! :D

Picked up the following engine bits today from DC Electronics

    1 x M800 ECU
    1 x Ignition Expander
    1 x ECU connector kit
    1 x Expander connector kit
    8 x Coil connector kits
    2 x Lambda sensors
2 x Lambda sensor connector kits
12 x 2 way junior timer connector kits (injectors and temp sensors)
4 x 3 way junior timer connector kits (TPS, MAP etc)
1 x Comms connector (to fit MoTeC download cable)

Originally, we were going to use the existing connectors/components/engine loom that came with the engine, but we decided to upgrade everything. A new engine loom will now be made up and we will be using a direct ignition system.

The above items are race developed and race proven parts used in FIA GT, Le Mans 24 Hour, Daytona 24 and are as good as they get.
