What's not posted are pictures of the 308 catching on fire moments after these pics were taken!

    Wheeeeeeeee!

    Arguing on the internets... ;)

'Twas not my intention to throw rocks at a hornet's nest. Had it been a Honda in Boise, I'd never have posted it.

As it was relevant to this forum and this specific sub-forum, thought it would be an interesting topic of discussion. Apparently moreso than I realized.

Yes, it's the owner's to do with as he pleases, and no, the 308 isn't my favorite either, but if it were mine (and I'd gladly take it, as I'm in the 'been here a while, don't own a Ferrari camp') it surely wouldn't be in this state of disarray, oil pool notwithstanding.

Back to your corners, gents... fight's over. Turns out it's a Fiero with a body kit. (Not really, but if it ends the sillyness...)

Have a great day, folks. Really. :)

    -Tad

Karc is entitled to his opinions, just like everyone else here..

And speaking of which, seeing how most people commenting on this topic in the New England section are NOT from New England, they obviously have never met Karc, or seen his contributions to numerous car events in the region, photography skills, helping organize a recent supercarroadtrips event to help battle breast cancer, etc..

His talent and knowledge of ALL great cars, foreign and domestic, past and present, are well respected amongst many here in the Northeast..

I've never seen anyone post such a negative, potentially unpopular remark and then defend it so well.

Are you really talking about the 308 here?

308s are basically Dinos with more power and a bit more weight. The model carried the company through some pretty dark times.
I agree they're nothing revolutionary, but if you don't think a 308 is fun to drive then you must think driving fun is all about raw acceleration, top speed or massive grip. The point is, you don't 'get' 308s and that's fine.
I wouldn't call you names just because you don't love them (your first comment made me chuckle), but don't act all uppity when others in the 308 section take umbrage at your rather odd criticisms.
Other than Boxsters, Elises, or 308s there just aren't any mid-engined cars with semi-exotic motors out there for under 30k. True out of these three 308s are the slowest, but having driven all three for me they're the most fun. YMMV.

I'd love to hear more about the inferences you've made about me based on this information. Thanks.

My 1st post says it all. You value power and grip above all in a 'fun' car, hence the vette. Don't know or care about the Silverado.

I'd love to hear more about your statement "I don't hate Ferraris, there are a few that just shouldn't have been made."

Please just let it die....no good can come from this. Any reply will be met with a slightly higher retort until an all out war is started.

One doesn't care much for 308's the other doesn't care much for the others opinion.

Lane gets banned for calling someone stupid, yet others are allowed to use the word dickhead. Do your job moderators and close this playground down. Recess is over.

Nothing good, say like a Ferrari site visitor showing a modicum of respect or at least silence about a model many people on said site happen to like? Correct, this guy isn't capable of even such a basic social courtesy..
Not that I'd do such a rude and dickheaded thing, but wonder how long the thread would be if one posted on a vette forum that a certain model should never have been built, is owned by sateen jacket/hat/shoe wearing stoplight racing wannabes and deserves nothing better than to be a (flimsy) workbench.
But you're right, Ferrari owners are better than that ;)

But then the agrument could be made for any model..

I love mustangs, have had 5, 2 right now, but I and others dislike the 76 - 78 Mustang II. This car was a disgrace to the brand, and never should have been built..

However, it did carry over the company during the oil embargo of said period, and led to the 79 - 93 Fox body mustangs, today the most popular platform ever built for the car.

So this could be said about just about any make/model of car..

Again, anyone who knows karc personnaly, such as myself, knows his character and again his contributions to many events, shows, etc. in the NE region, and he his well known, well liked, and above all well respected. It is his opinion, and he is entitled to it.

To make such assertations based on his sig and what he drives is quite presumptuous and childish.

Its not that hard....Just stop typing and the discussion ends.

FYI, I also know Karc personally and your generalizations are not accurate.
