Whoever they're waiting for is obviously very late...

The car in that last pic is 1121176 which the current owner rescued many years ago and restored himself. He simply painted it a hot rod color he liked which he refers to as "Black Cherry" (!). He sent the engine to Wallace to have it Turbocharged, and I say all this to help you understand that the car is a custom creation so its paint color is not off the Lamborghini color chart. FWIW the original livery was red/white. I like the current color though, as I like wild colors on a Countach, and Id love to see LP400 1120238 returned to its original Viola Metalizzato (1 of 2 in that livery).
LOL I didn't think I was. It was a joke! Given that I was the one who started the so-called "S1 party" with my own posting of Dennis F's 1121052 in post # 5434, I guess I was spoiling my own S1 party with a post of my own LP400! Ironic. I realize I was remiss in my failure to apply winking face to denote kidding. Anyway thanks for sharing pics of the 2007 (?) Countach Reunion where just two S1 cars attended, 1121036 and 1121038. What are the odds of that happening? Successive cars off the production line! Even though I was stuck at Laguna Seca with the F40 crowd I made it over there briefly with my family to see the LP400 prototype, although I must say I was a bit disappointed by that car's condition, but I was still grateful to see it on USA soil. So many of the cars have changed hands since then (some multiple times) and two other cars I admired were Sandy C's one-off livery Annivesario 12760 and Clayton B's LP400 1120286. Fond memories, good times. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bill, for you. I guess I have re-started the S1 party. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Where did the P. of Turkey car end up? Have S1 values gone up that much? I think they have the best look (as do many) but didn't that car sell for only 100g about a year ago and 036 (often stated as a perfect example), sell for $185 about 3 years ago? (stated by Tony) -I also have to say that probably Nothing looks cooler than those clocks attached to a dashboard in a Countach-
Ken: Regarding radios I am pretty sure this is what you need as shown below but I am ignorant as to model number (perhaps someone else can clue us in). I purchased an S1 in another era in days long gone by for $100k, so I agree, they have steadily risen over the years, but the what and when takes some tracking to explain. Both the cars you mention sold inexpensively at one point, and then, 1036 in particular latterly sold at $300k, twice! I sold 1038 to a client of mine who is having it restored at not inconsiderable expense. Yes I agree about the rally clocks. But what can I use them for? Oh, I know, I will time how long it takes the 'box to warm up and allow me to use 2nd gear! There. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I would say you are right! I have the smaller square profile items in amber/clear as this car had when new (below), and will make a weekend job of going in there releasing the spring clamps and getting the job done. I always end up cutting my fingers going into that area. I will ensure the amber sections are outward, not inwards as they are now, as well. I wish cars such as this were left alone, and I have no idea why they are messed with, modified, etc over the years. As far as I am concerned this was a rough diamond waiting to be rescued & polished. I have a couple other small things to do also... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow, he really jacked up the price, huh? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lamborghini-Countach-Suspension-Rebuild-Kits_W0QQitemZ380199338126QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item5885a5808e
he also had a NOS SW voltmeter I lusted after...for $1500 I passed, but found another later for a much more attractive price. Now if I could just do that with some Britax belts or a steering wheel...?
Interesting to see how many RHD Countachs that started life in England/UK end up in Malaysia. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I know Ianqv sold his to Malaysia. How many others have gone there and Australia and Japan? I have been told that there are only about 30-40 countachs left in the Uk!! Scary!! Paul x
No Mansour Ojjeh's car is a different red-and-white liveried LP400. It is 1120136 and Ive since sold it back to Eu. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is Ojjeh's 1120136 with its original livery when delivered new to a Saudi Prince. Ojjeh bought it from him and kept it at his Santa Barbara home. The passenger foot-well housed a mini-bar!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
