FERRARI 288 GTO

Not a real GTO, and I think we have some more info on it earlier in the thread.

 

There's a video about a 288 GTO on Youtube and I noticed something I've never seen before, please see picture. It looks like there's a GTO script in the waist line? Or am I seeing things? Car is UK registered 'GTO 1N'.

Well, UK plates "GTO 1N" were used on several 288 GTOs: 54807 and 56193. Which car are we talking here?

It looks like the one from the Ferrari World collection. Maybe you can tell from this which one it was? By the way thanks for the s/n of the Auto Becker 288!

288 GTO for sale. Note ask price. There is a really wide disparity in numbers with these cars, as in fact with any of the Supercars.

I have to be honest, I have no clue what it is. I initially thought it was some sort of N.A.R.T racer but I don't see any decals affiliating with N.A.R.T. Is this, perhaps, a rebodied 308 track weapon or some 288 GTO race car that I have completely overlooked?

I sure would like to know more about that 288.

 

The vents in the engine hood are 308. The roofline makes me think it is based on a GTS. Special suspension pieces not found on 308 or GTO.

Yes, must be the same car...
What made me think that it was a front-engined car was the line of the front wing; much longer than the original 308.
