I took the Lotus Evora for a test drive on Saturday... It was visiting us here in Texas for 1 day...unfortunately i only had like 20 min because of other scheduled test drives... My Opinion- Pros: Excellent Handling, Amazing Braking capabilities, Beautiful front, rich interior, Attractive, you feel the fun!. Cons: Acceleration lacks zest, dull rear end, narrow cabin (ok for small people like me), Overpriced at 95k$ specially if compared to a GTR.
Just wanted to share this and see any other opinions.
    cheers

Putting it next to the 360 just shows how well the 360 design has held up for over ten years.

I would consider evora for a DD,

    I love lotus,

    had an esprit and elise..

I think they are expensive because they are exotic.. considering getting an elise again to leave in philly when I visit.. such is how much I enjoyed the car

Just to clarify the car shown is not going to hit the market at 95k but rather 84k.

Thanks for coming in to drive the Evora while we were in Austin. The Evora tour is almost over finishing up in Dallas this weekend. It is nice to see the review from a Ferrari owners perspective. They are different cars but that is what make both of them great.

ya...what does it have like 280 hp?

I don't understand why they underpowered the car like that...It seems like in this day and age, most Toyota Camries, and Nissan Ultimas will have more power, at half the price...

If the Elise SC is anything to go by, a supercharged Evora is a good possibility. Then it would be really move.

    No kidding.

That lotus looks like a little "Korean economy car" with that "smiley face" grill.

Looks like it would drive and say "hi, wanna be friends?".

It's not as simple as that- Lotus focuses on lower weight, which includes a smaller motor. The power to weight ratio is probably very high....performance probably equals that of a heavier car with more horsepower. I say probably since I'm too lazy to actually look up the specs, but you get my drift.

Couldn't agree more. I like Lotus's (Loti??) but looks like they farmed out the nose to Mazda with that silly smile front. For my money I'll take a 10 year old 360 vs this ;) BUT I could see the appeal for someone to want this car- looks nice

IMO looks kind of bland, especially next to the 360.

If I'm not mistaken, it uses a Toyota Camry V6 engine.

I drove one a couple of weeks ago... obviously it feels slow compared to an F430 but still respectable. Slick six speed with a nicely done interior. The biggest disappointment was the sound (or lack of engine note) - even at high RPM - it certainly isn't an F car in that repect.

    Neither one inspires me.

The Esprit was a classic. For $84K, you could probably have one in like-new condition.

Just keep your mechanic on your speed dial!

And...I've never been a big fan of "folded paper" design.

True, Lotus quality was never all that great in the 'good old days'. Hopefully the Evora is a step up.

That red one on the left is a looker. (whistle) I wonder which one is faster..... never mind.

Pros on Evora: Bullet Prof Engine, turbo charger available on Ebay for $800.

They're very different cars - the Evora will cost virtually nothing to run compared to the 360.

Also the photo above does not show the Evora from a great angle. In the flesh it looks much nicer.

I think the Evora is slightly over-priced, but this is because the launch editions (which are now all sold) came with every option.

The Evora will be available from £49k.

I still have a deposit with my local dealer, but am currently weighing up an F355 or 360.

The Esprit is like the 360, a classic car with lines that last forever
