This is the welcome I got on the BMW forum yesterday...nice.

I used to think BMW's were expensive too, until I bought a Ferrari. Now I love my BMW because parts are so cheap.

On the other hand, Honda parts are very cheap, but driving a Honda is not driving a BMW. If that is the model you fell in love with, get it checked out and buy it. Life is short. Enjoy.

Here is the response I get from some clown...
"1 Post and you claim to have a Ferrari? How about a make and model, or a pic, there are plenty of people who claim to have all these things, if they didnt it wouldnt be the internet... Find a Ferrari forum to talk about your imaginative car, at least they will be able to decipher the lies lol"

Hope when I drive up in my impossible to attain 308 (LMAO) that you guys don't think I stole it!

Also, is this the right forum to try and trick you guys into thinking the 308QV I own is actually mine? Ahahahahahahahahaha!

Come on Matt, who you trying to fool? 2,287 posts and now you claim to own a real BMW?

Seriously though, I guess it doesn't matter if you're on Bimmerforums or anywhere else -- you'll find people who are just like that. Sad to see that "Chad, the used car manager" is from my neck of the woods. I hate it when people are quick to judge. Good retort to his remarks though!

If you don't back up your BS with some pictures J.R.'s gonna visit with the appropriate cards. :). Dose he have a counterpart on that forum?

LOL, yeah, but I guess I am guilty of that sometimes too...perhaps a lesson to be learned by me from this clown? I am pretty pleased with my retort :D

It has nothing to do with where you are from, the idiots have taken over the earth. :p

Don't feel too bad. Out of all the forums that I have been on, I have found that the BMW forums contain the most combative and unfriendly bunch of wannabes on the internet. The BMW clientel is so diverse these days thanks to BMW stamping out their cars at almost Honda production levels, that they devalue pretty quickly and create buying opportunities for a lot of people who have no business owning one to begin with. Quite frankly, other than some British car specific forums I have been on, F-chat is one of the best forums(moderators excluded) and in general is a fairly welcoming place, containing many similarly minded individuals.

A bunch of people from here should sign up over there and say in their first post that they own a Ferrari. :)

I think that one of the factors why everybody on Bimmerforums calls BS on eachother's rides has something to do with fact that the average age of a poster over there is 15.25 years old.

Indeed, and I know that is true. When I purchased my first E36 M3 in 1999 off the showroomk floor it cost me $40k. Now you can buy these cars for a few grand and a cup of coffee (a steal really for such a good car) but these kids today have no bloody idea what it means to have to wait for anything ever, and so the fact that they all don't have Ferrari's at 18 years old upsets them, so when someone else says they have one they cry foul.

    Tough sh*t.

    Exactly.

And, 99% of the Ferrari/Lambo, etc. owners in Bimmerforums turn out to be fakers.

    Matt,

I like the fact that the guy who was "calling you out" has the handle "ClassAct"... NOT. Beyond that he has soooooo much more "cred" than you since he made 27 posts!!!

Thanks man, I love the sound too. Magnaflow baby!

I didn't know that about all the fakers there...I just know I have always loved M cars since I was little, and Ferrari was always "out there" somewhere as an etherial marque.

Now I own both. Talk about blessed!

Noted on his cred...LOL. He is a used car lot salesman too, what a hoot! Almost too good to true, as much as we all love used car salesmen that is..

Did anyone go over and make a thread saying they too have a Ferrari?? If there is a whole THREAD of us going over that might be pretty funny and I would be down with that. I used to own a BMW...but then got my Ferrari!!

Ah, I am so glad we live in the New World, where someone with only one post may indeed actually own a Ferrari. How liberating! Why, in feudal society, it would have been preposterous to think that one with fewer than 1000 posts might actually claim to own a Ferrari!

...by the way, thread has been updated. :)

If this is a 328 BMW it would be interesting. The "my 328" or "my non Ferrari 328"?
