Really makes a big difference when the originals are dull, cracked, and generally sorta shabby looking. See my attached before/after pic for an idea of the difference.

They're about 6 bucks per cap from Ricambi and if you follow their video instructions (on the website) you can make the swap without even removing the wheels.

Looks great, any after shots with the car?

Pardon my ignorance, but why/how is there a hole in the (before) cap?

To take the caps off without removing the wheel, you have to drill through the cap, plug it with a screw and then use a pair of vise-grips to pull the cap off.

No shots of the car 'after' - I've been too busy driving it. :D

Since there is so much difference in the look of the new caps, why wouldn't you dismount the wheels so you can save the originals for Concours 2030?

6 bucks per cap? I'll take a hundred at that price. Closer to $25 each unless there is some sale I'm missing....

$185.00 or best offer for a set of four on ebay in a non-yellow color.

Stock up on the original style centre caps before they become impossible to find.[ new ones have a slight color change]

    The horse is different too.

I have a new set, but I didn't drill out my old ones. It's worth the unmount-remount to preserve them, IMHO.

I would like some old caps for an art project. The more weathered, the better. Send me a message if you want to unload them :)

Good exercise, changing tires and all.....

They were all pretty well shot - no use hanging on to them. Look at the pic I attached...those cracks were already there.

I'm all about the most efficient way to get 'er done...if that means I'm lazy, so be it. :D

Truth be told, I didn't know there were 2 different sets available when I ordered. If I had, I might have went with the Old Skool ones but now that I have the new ones on, I really like them a LOT better.

The hole drilling method is shown on Daniel's (Ricambi) website. Rumor has it he wants everyone to use this method as he will then have the last set of old skool wheel caps in the world and will offer them for sale on ebay at a tremendous unobtainium price to fund his inevitable 355 purchase.

very nice...what a difference....and as someone here mentioned, the horse looks bigger and "thicker" in the new ones.

My old ones were cracked and I just made the upgrade. I think the new ones look much better and they seem to be better made.

The sun finally came out again in SoCal so I fired her up and went for a drive. Thought I would snap a picture for you of the car with the new wheel caps on.

The wheels really "pop" in person - can't tell so much in my crummy iPhone shot.

Inspired by this thread, I did the same and ordered the new style caps. WOW! Painted Metal instead of plastic! So much nicer that my old faded ones. I used the same method to remove the old ones by drilling a hole, but instead, used an allen wrench and some pliers to yank it out. See pics below.

Only negative is that now my resin shields are a different shade of yellow. Perhaps, I'll have to get some yoshi's.

See before and after pics on wheel
