At 4:18 yesterday, after a 9 month global search, Becky and Marty became the proud parents of a 1999, 355 Spyder. Its black/tan, even though we are white and tan. Special thanks to Jarrett AKA jmiff348 for answering my endless emails of "how about this one" and "have you ever seen this one", and for introducing us to RAC Proformance, the foster parents. http://www.racperformance.com/?// On a sad note, our new baby will not be able to come home for a couple weeks. Its having a "major" surgery. Dr. Johnathon will do his best to get her in perfect shape. We will be going by often to take pictures of the entire procedure. Once given a clean bill of health we will bring her home to share with the neighborhood on a weekend basis. Well, at least they will hear it on a weekend basis anyway. Here is the first picture just after the adoption papers were signed. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congratulations!! I hope you and your new arrival have many happy days together ahead. All the best, Andrew.
Very nice. Congrats. I've been wondering - are cigars appropriate for this kind of new arrival? I brought my doctors a big batch of local brew (Stone Brewery).
Marty, she's gorgeous!!! Congratulations! Can't wait to see her running around and playing in the neighborhood. Stop by and pick me up the next time you head down to the "hospital"...
Congratulations! What a beauty! What is being done to the car to bring it to a complete healthy condition? Looks perfect from the photo. Engine work or just maintenance? Enjoy it in good health.
Thank you to everyone, she is very pretty, and the deal came with an entire 15k major top to bottom. Belts, pumps, fluids, gaskets, etc... the works. They start yanking the motor monday morning. We are so proud, she's our first.
I get soooooooooooooooo happppppppppppy when I see someone post that they finally found their baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any "while you are in there" mods? Do you plan on replacing the headers with aftermarket while the engine is out? Since that seems to be a weak area it would be a great time to replace with something like a Fabspeed (or other make) set.
Excellent idea, maybe I should start a new thread and see what kind of ideas you guys can come up with. I'm new to the Ferrari world and I love to find out about some "dang, I wish I'd done that when they did the major" type things. If anyone has any ideas...let me have 'em
Marty, make sure they replace the tensioners. Go with Hill Engineering (ricambi.com). They are better than stock.
Yes I did, worked with Jonathan Peck, great guy. I went in today with my "punch list", you know, make sure everything works, brake lights, head lights, wheels are nice, wipers, turn signals, recalls, everything, all little stuff. He just looked at me half way through the list and said "really?, really? the wipers? Really? I got an Enzo over here I'm working a deal on and you want me to make sure the AC blows cold? OK, What else ya got?" He suffered through it smiling all the way. Good guy
