That one came to Canada July 1985. However sold at auction to? living where? I liked the cloth seat and dash inserts on that one. It shared space on the showroom floor at Gentry Lane with their 1991 F40 for a while... CH
I would like to get this magazine if anyone can help. "Rosso" magazine, August 2003, issue #73 Please PM or e-mail me. TIA. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Marcel has nailed it. The mesh grills are a spare part that you can order from Ferrari. For reasons I that are not clear, FNA (Ferrari North America) had some in stock. Probably because the person that ordered them didn't know they were for use in Germany. Naturally, I purchased them "just because". I have all the body panels for the car hanging around as spare parts. It's pretty clear what each piece is made of. There are reproductions out there. Those are usually in black, (originals have that funky orange color), are heavier (I weighed them at the time) and the inner panels of the quarter panels lack the same reineforcements of the original. So, buyer beware. Steve
At RAI in the Netherlands this month, shod with Michelins. Anyone know the chassis number? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
well, it's displayed next to Frits Kroymans' 212 Inter Vignale cabriolet s/n 0227, so I guess it's his 288, s/n 56339.
This was a few years ago and that car proceeded to set a benchmark price for a standard 288 GTO so he must have been smiling moments later.
At long last the wait is over. Reproductions of the famed Ansa F1 Megaphono units in correct-for-period black mild steel are possible again. Manufacture is by the old guys in Italy who made the original units. I will confirm pricing and availability in the next day or so, please be patient. If you'd like your 288 GTO to sound like it ought to, please contact me via e-mail. Sorry Joe, just catching up reading some threads... Much to read here... Really look forward to your book. Just learnt today that some parts of the 288 GTO are designed for 4 wheel drive? Front hubs (hopefully the right word) should give an clue? Edit... Look at this picture from the GTO workshop-manual... Where's the big hole for? Image Unavailable, Please Login
You beat me! Just searched for it, indeed in issue nr. 30 ( i could remember the 288 GTO on the cover) Have just put the picture in my post. Are there any other parts that refer to a 4wd design?
