I was a huge BMW fan, put over 100k on a E36 325is. I do like the new 335 pics. Compare a BMW to anything from Detroit or even the Mercedes/Audi lines and it is a great car. However, compare it to a Maserati and you see how much it lacks in looks and performance.

    ^^^^holy crap, nearly $60k for a 3-series convertible!?!?!?! ridiculous.

of course, 3 year residual value will be $25k.... ;)

So basically they ripped off the M3's looks to dilute interest the more expensive M3?

    Yup.

Pardon my ignorance, but I know nothing about BMWs, are the iS models the last of that model year, should we be expecting a brand new redesigned 3-series?

The way things at BMW are going, with the new Z4, 7-series, and 5 series, it seems like that would make sense. 2011 or 2012 should be a new redesigned 3-series?

Edit: Mods, can we please shorten the thread title. (not my thread, but it's too much)

Looks nice but no 3-series ever has or ever will 'tingle' me the way the E46 M3 did. The design is 10 years old now and I still just as in love with the car today as I was in 2001. I also don't understand why anyone would pay $50k for this when they could pay $50k for a lightly used E9x M3.

I look forward to seeing how the Competition Package will look on the new M3's.

    What they said.

$60K is ludicrous, and this generation of the 3 is pretty forgettable.
