Awesome! Looks like things are really moving along!

What are you doing up so late? Are you watching House, eating Oreos and working on your database too? Or is that just me?

I'll use this garage for the Enzo, F40, CGT, GT3 RS and E63.

My CS and Ruf 993 Turbo R will be stored in another garage.

Very nice, but my OCD mind wonders if you could cover the lift posts (non-moving sides) with a thinnish wood casing to match the beams overhead?

    I know.. I have problems.

Ha! Our decorator has been wanting me to do that!

I told her I'm not yet sure because "wood" lift posts may seem odd. I also like the way it matches the car tires. The wood may look a little busy, overdone or artificial. But what do I know?

A light swipe of my favorite artificial chamois did the trick (Water Sprite Plus). I'll probably detail it this weekend. After this endless rain in CA, I think this is going to be a huge sunny weekend across the state!

Since the car is so nice, I hate to drive it hard without wrapping it first. I'll have Premier do that. I'm just a little concerned about the paint lifting since it's 20-years old and painted by hand.

You need a garage guard. Someone to stand inside or outside of your garage, guarding your cars when you're not using them.

Maybe even a separate guard just for the Enzo. :)

If by "odd" you mean "not usually done".. then I suggest you take a few steps back and look at what you're doing to that poor garage. ;)

Seriously though, a nice casing and a molding at the top would (I think) look pretty cool and really give it that "extra-mile" touch, not unlike a nice substantial bedframe. By the way, I meant just the posts- the horizontal bits would remain as they were.

I'm almost ready to fire up photoshop to prove the point!

You may be right (posts only). My decorator agrees with you for elegance. I'm not sure why I'm hesitant.

Bill, How small of an MR16 housing do you need? I can get some that are (iirc) 2-1/8" dia and about 5" tall, all 6061 T6 machined aluminum, anodized black, UL1838 and CSB approved for wet location use. They are normally used in high end landscape lighting but would probably be applicable to mount in your lift, even have pre-drilled and threaded mounting holes.

If you're interested let me know and I can email you some spec drawings monday with all the final dimensions.

Sounds pretty nice. Low voltage without transformer? Please post here if you can. I'm sure others would be very interested. We're looking at maybe W.A.C now so we don't need to bother with conduit on the lifts...

Yes 12v input to the lamp. I'll post some specs when I'm back in the office monday.

It's bigger than the assembly you posted but very slick.

IMHO you're not building a working garage, and nothing else in there is off-the-shelf.. so why leave the lifts alone?

Sorry if I seem like I'm pushy on something I have no vested interest in, but if I was going this route I wouldn't think twice about it. It's like having a built-in BBQ vs. something on rollers with a propane tank; the lifts look unfinished compared to the rest of their surroundings.

Actually it doubles as a working garage, but that part is hidden. We have full air, oil pans, jacks and a complete set of tools stored in the walls for normal maintenance like oil changes (on the CGT!) and some replacement of small parts.

I suppose a Photoshop comparison may be a good idea! BTW, the current finish is a custom matt powder-coat finish with clear that is very resistant to most chemicals and abrasion. The wood would not do as well, but it probably wouldn't be touched by chemicals anyway.
