probably talking about the $$$ for the services. did you sell your car or pull it off because buyers won't pay your asking?
We all experience a certian amount of regular service expense, that shouldn't factor into the initial value of the car, unless the car hasn't been properly maintained. I decided to keep it because I refuse to give it away. I'm excited that she's staying here with me!!
Just saw this. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/vbclassified.php?do=ad&id=3085 91TS with 45k miles $32k
Scotty, I've been looking around for awhile now, that car of yours is NICE. One of the nicest I've seen out there. Your price is very fair, it's just a bit out of my budget. If I go over my budget the wife gets to buy more shoes. She already has a couple thousand pair.
LOL One of the reasons that I decided to keep the car is that my wife wants to constantly buy more and more valuable furniture, carpet, etc for the house. If I keep the car, then there is less money available for more nicer crap in the house I am looking for a pair of nice Eames Lounges for the formal living room, though. Thanks for the kind words, I hope your wife enjoys her shoes as much as you'll enjoy a 355!! Tell her she'll have ample opportunity to show them off in the 355, regardless of the purchase price!!
I have decided to finally let my fellow F-Chatters check out my 355 that I am thinking about selling. I'm not really that interested in listing it on eBay, etc, but am open to anyone on this board who I know would take care of her. I purchased her in July 2008 and have spent approximately $21,000 making her right. And since then I couldn't have been happier! I don't need to sell but I have a time frame that involves a fabulous investment opportunity if I can free up the cash in the 355. I have had 2 F-Chatters express interest without me even listing it, but they finally found another 355. Here is the short list: New clutch and tires July 2008 All sticky pieces redone by Robbie Entire interior Leatheriqued TWO times this summer. New F1 gear indicator light with lifetime warranty from Ricambi OEM Ferrari Euro CLear Corner lights on the front Custom Car cover Enzo Key Ferrari leather pouches for the alarm fobs (one red and one natural) Alpine $500 head unit with Cd and iPod cord run to the center console Alpine PDX 4x100 amp powering $900 Focal separates in factory locations All the following performed in June 2009: 30k service New Hill Engineering tensioner bearings New Hyper-Flow cats Rebuilt headers by QV London New Quicksilver SuperSports Exhaust (This exhaust is NOT quiet--especially at 8500RPM!) I will include the factory exhaust in case you don't like the loud racecar-sounding Quicksilver. New Porterfield brake pads (ZERO brake dust and NO squealing) All four rear exterior lights and lense covers(the 4 red ones) are brand new and sparkle (all 355 light cases bulge out after years but I have LED lights in the rear now) I also have all the books for the car and all the service records from Day 1 as the car was only serviced at Ferrari of Los Gatos, which is now Silicon Valley Auto Group. Car is 1999 F355 Spider F1 with TdF blu paint and Cuoio leather on the bottom and dark blue leather on the top with a blue convertible top. Car has 24,500 miles on it. I'm sure I am forgetting some things--oh yeah, just replaced the right headlamp motor at a cost of $700, as it quit working. I am willing to have a PPI performed at a place of your choosing. I will entertain offers in the $63k range. As you can see, I have not put a lot of time into this ad. The car is perfect and extremely beautiful. I am shocked you are selling this beautiful car, after all you've done to it. I almost sold mine this week, and then I realized I probably will never be able to replace it as the well sorted ones are so hard to find these days. Make sure you think hard about it as I almost made that mistake. There's always ways to free up some cash, and Bella may not be as easy to find again
The original owner is a doctor in Beverly Hills. I have the paperwork. This is the reason that I am not immensely passionate about selling her. I have spent over $20k to make her right. It's just that I have had some interest in her from a couple FChat members and I figured I would throw up a quick ad just to see of it garnered any interest. What makes me sad is that my job takes me to other states and I am home about 10 days a month--I was home for a whopping THREE days the entire month of December. I can't even walk out to my garage every night and sneaks peek under her cover to make sure she is warm enough. She is not a $50k eBay car. I have replaced everything that goes bad on all 355s. I feel sorry for people who buy a cheap Ferrari that encounter big repair bills down the road. I am one of them. I figured $10-$12k to make her right--and that was with a 30k service. Anyway, I know I would never buy a red Ferrari after owning this one. Should I venture back into the Ferrari world my first choice of color would be TdF...my second would be white. And...since I am only listing her on FChat you can tell that I am not excited about selling her...I just want her to go to an enthusiast. I almost cried when I sold my BMW last summer...I made a video on my iPhone of the guy driving her away... I have strong emotional attachments to my cars. That's why they are always so clean.
I am thinking about selling my pride and joy ... 1998 f355 BERLINETTA 13K MILES a perfect 10 !! no stories of any kind !! 6 spd Manual, originally delivered in miami by THE COLLECTION if anyone is interested in the particulars please PM me. i will consider offers over 70k nothing less. Anyone here selling this car? http://www.autotrader.ca/used_cars_Cars_details/TORONTO_Ontario_1997_FERRARI_355+_3561177.html?srcid=1747453&sour looks like a scam http://www.ferrari355registry.com/Ferrari_Registry.asp?pYear=1997 car has 14k miles on registry & shows 15044 KM in AD
It is possible that it is an honest mistake, meaning the AD should read 15044 miles instead of KM. I saw an ad once that listed a 348 as a 6-cylinder. I have no link to the seller, nor do I even know who it is, I am just suggesting that it could be a mistake.
that crossed my mind also but I don't think this is the case here. the price is too low & it just looks like a scam. that's why I posted to see if anyone chimes in.
Thats a pure scam, contact the seller it useually results in a email back saying they are a widow of a serviceman who died in Iraq and need to make some money... then goes on asking you to send money via ebay motors to secure the purchase. If it looks too good to be true it is.
You're right on the mark Rick. Here is email I received. Hello, First I want to thank you for being interested about my 1997 Ferrari CONVERTIBLE 355 SPIDER. The car is in perfect condition, no damage, never involved in accidents and the mileage is 15,044 km. It has all the papers and document and it registered onto my name. The price is CAD $21,530 including shipping and handling to your address (only in Canada). The car is located in Canada but currently I am located in London, United Kingdom, because I just finished the divorce with my husband and i have moved here to my parents for a while. The transaction will be made only through ebay vehicle purchase protection program also for our both safety,i prefer only legit transactions.Where are you located?
Why not toy with her. Tell her you are want to see the vehicle and will bring a certified cheque or even cash, your schedule is very flexible and therefore you can fly out anytime and anywhere in Canada to come see the car and close the deal.
I did that before with some other clown & as soon as I became a pain he stopped emailing me. see http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=258259&page=2
