Ferrari and Ducati had their winter retreat together, they schmooze at the top. Rossi will finish 2010 with Yamaha and then, over distaste w/ Lorenzo, Vale will leave Yamaha and move to Ducati. All 4 top riders in MotoGP contracts expire next year....mucho interesting silly season starting in June, IMO. Rossi will do 2 yrs with Ducati (yes, he will talk Burgess in to going with him) and then he will move to WRC to have fun, because he will be too old to even consider F1.

Just my opinions, for what they are worth.

What? What did I say? Who me?

As for March will we be racing at CIR in Addison? If so there's a nice Italian restaurant not to far away that we can perhaps get everyone together for some dinner afterward. I would really enjoy that, I haven't seen everyone in awhile and really look forward to seeing everyone again.

BTW You said this not me :D

Actually i was just giving an example. What actually pisses me off, since 2006, whenever Rossi tests for Ferrari, straightaway, Massa's seat is in jeopardy.

As for MS and Ferrari, i don't think Merc had a better offer, etc. I think it's a fact that MS's neck didn't recover in time, hence they didn't want to take the risk and sign Alonso when he's available. Whats the guarantee that MS's neck would recover in time for the new season?

Alonso signed a pre contract thing with Ferrari God knows when. It was one of the pitlane's worst kept secret. It was announced in Sept only. But in Sept, MS's neck wasn't recovered, as Ross only made the call in November, IIRC.

Ferrari lost out massively, when Luca opted for Kimi as MS's 'replacement'.

hmmm, so let's not put on ANY threads that contain information that is controversial, or perhaps 'offends' the supporters of a particular driver? Yes, that would make for an interesting forum wouldn't it? Part of what makes Ferrari chat so interesting is the varied opinions and differing viewpoints. Of course, there is always someone who thinks that what THEY think is the final word on things...eh Speedmore?

I agree, but thats not what this thread is about:

ROSSI IN PLACE OF MASSA...THE PLOT THICKENS

A bogus rumor started right here. I'd rather have differing opinions or argue about true crap not made up crap.

....you just don't get it do you Speedbore? There has been enough commentary over the PAST THREE YEARS in respect of Rossi to suggest that perhaps Ferrari have bigger plans than first suggested. Even LdeM has commented that it would be good to see Rossi in one of their cars. If you don't agree, fine, state your case. I suggest a good way to enter a debate is to refrain from calling someone elses considered opinion 'crap'. Of course, some people think THEIR opinions are so much more important that they feel they have to denigrate others. I'm sure you are a pleasure to do business with also...

Come on dude, now who's slingin mud...........as far as how I conduct business you are "way out of line".

I can guarantee you my business has not a damn thing to do with this discussion and I'm real sorry for you that you've stooped that low. But since you brought it up why don't you ask my clientele how I run my business ....I can go to sleep at night knowing that I treat every single customer from the multi-billionare client to the Obama loving State employ with a beater Porsche with the utmost integrity and take care them and their respective autos with a high degree of knowledge, honesty & professionalism and stand behind the work 100%. We don't cut corners nor to do I make up bogus crap to cover my ass when we do make mistakes (although we try very hard to be perfect in our work, nobody is pefect).....i.e. I don't sugar coat or lead people astray....I tell it like it is regardless if its good or bad.

Now as far as this "discussion", this thread:

Where in the press is there any discussion of him replacing Massa, you show me one article where it discusses replacing Massa with anyone other than MS or Fisi. SHOW ME. I'm pretty up on F1, I read the **** in Itallian, German, wherever I can get my hands on it, where does it say LDM is planning on replacing Massa with Rossi, again SHOW ME.

I like the kid, but I also like Massa and he needs everyones support through a difficult time not some "bogus" rumor mill that creates discent through the Tifosi. Give him a chance. If you don't think the boys in Maranello don't keep an eye on what the general public discusses even on Robs little ol' FChat you are sorely mistaken.

Maybe the only mistake I made is joining the F1 discussion instead of staying over and consulting in Technical sections......yet again I'm a diehard Ferrari F1 fan whomever is in the seat(s).

Speedbore. I didn't say HOW you did business, I only said it was probably a 'pleasure' to do business with you...based on your personality that is indicated by your comments. I have no doubt that you're ethical and fair. You just don't come across as particularly pleasant. I didn't call your business 'crap' by the way. My thread was intended to start a discussion regarding VR/FM and was speculation based on evidence to date. I have no problem with you disagreeing, but I would suggest you find a bit more of a considerate and polite way to make your point.

ps. you 'tell it' based on how YOU see it....not on how it IS. Something to think about.

So then the way it IS must be your version. Your post a few above was out of line period.
Everyone tells it the way they see it and most see it as dumbass rumor.

Uh, no. I was simply postulating an opinion based on different facts and comments available in the public domain. I implied that I THINK that Rossi may be a replacement for Massa, and offered that opinion as the basis for discussion. I don't believe I said in conclusion that anyone who disagreed was a 'dumbass'. You from Texas also...? (with appropriate apologies to all the great Texans i've met over the years!).

I'm sorry, anybody that actually thinks Rossi will ever enter a F1 race is a ****** :D :D

Come on had to say it ... LOL, but seriously that is how I see it. He's just playing because he's mates with the team.

Heck next we'll have threads about Brad Pitt's thinking about becoming a F1 driver, because he was seen in the pits talking with Luca or something. Think of the media interest, sponsor possibilities, etc.

    Why not?

Even lesser talented folks landed a seat: BADoer, Lopez to name 2 recent examples

That said, the Rossi "trials" are just a PR stunt.

Yes unfortunately I have to agree. F1 now has become so far removed from racing, that it could.

BUT, and to me this is a big but. Out of all the teams on the grid who needs the money and attention less. The answer of course is Ferrari.

So why would Ferrari do this?. Surely it would make more sense to put a young wild talent from F3 or something in the seat and train him up for the future (something massively lacking in the Ferrari team) than putting in a nearing the end of his career slow driver.

    I couldn't agree more.

Didn't we have some young super talented kids in the Ferraris a year ago who set the Fiorano track on fire? Those are the folks Ferrari should be courting. Not some fish out of water, they might as well put Elton John in the car.

Really?, I just google'd Hope, North of Boston and it came up with this: http://realestate.boston.com/for-rent/listing/1001-70815480/North-Attleboro-MA-USA/Price_Rentals,1-ns

I've got to say, I'd have had you down as an owner more than a renter!. :D

As for Rossi, whilst he enjoys playing with the Ferrari F1 cars every now and again (wouldn't we all!), he much prefers the freedom he gets racing MotoGP. It's not impossible that he may decide to try F1 for real, but I can't see it happening in the next couple of years.

This season can't start soon enough.
BTW Attleboro (The high school ring capital of America) is south, not north of Boston. And in the end we're all renters:)
