Did i understand right, that the 599 will be the last production V12 of Ferrari ever?
I hadn't heard that, but that doesn't mean it's not true. Where did you hear it? I would caution you about believing anything is the "last one ever." After all, the Daytona was the last front engine V-12 Ferrari, right? Er, except for the 412, 456, 550, 599... Could be the "last one for now" though!
I would be okay with Ferrari making another mid-engined V12. A "real" replacement for the TR's and BB's. Not that i have anything against the 550 and 599, they are both fabulous cars.
When did they make previous mid-engined V12 models? The 365 BB, 512 BB, Testarossa, 512 TR & F512 M were all boxer engines, the cylinders not arranged in a 'V'. Sorry for being pedantic... Some other pedantic fellows may claim these engines are 180 degree 'V's, so some may see your statement as being correct. Paul
Technically speaking the Ferrari "flat 12" is in fact a 180°V-12 because two pistons share the same crank pin.
