As stated above, the twin roof scoops are also on SV cars of the late '90s. My '98 Monterey Edition Diablo SV had them.
Spotted a black 430 @ Chicago and LSD today. Also spotted a silver Gallardo...but thats cause I took it out of the garage YAY for a dry sunny day.
I've got to hand it to you,you are definitely a driver! I'm a wimp I guess, I won't take any of the 'fancy stuff' out until the roads are free of salt dust and other debris. Sparky P.S. If I were to, I've got a lot of crap to move to get them out of storage. Living in a cardboard box does have it's disadvantages.
Well I had to get it started as the battery was dead (I was obligated as a friend stopped by with his new GT3) and I need an annual service done before I ship it down to Palm Beach for Super Car Weekend. Its not any fun covered in the garage, 1 year of ownership this week, 1 clutch (previous owners fault) 2 sets rear tires 1 set front tires and 8500 miles later it I have no regrets it might actually turn out to be an investment the way the economy is going.
Related to "Phaeton factory" thread, this morning on Greenbay Rd in Lake Forest ,a very clean Dk blue Phaeton W8.
Ferrari 612 Black Met. on Kingsbury a little while ago. Sounded amazing, had to have an aftermarket exaust on it.
Sorry 150 SE30 cars and the Jota package included the roof scoops among other things. Also 28 Jota upgrade packages were offered but apparently the roof scoops were available on other cars as well? I always thought it was specific to the Jota kit. There is a guy here in Chi area with a purple Diablo SE30 with the Jota upgrade I probly tried to absorb too many facts at once from him, I was very busy drooling and jabbering when he let me sit in it.
LOL! Yes, he talks to fast and usually drinks too much as well!!!! There were 150 SE 30's made. Out of those 150, 28 were Jota cars. His car and mine are the only 2 in the USA.
After my failed attempts in the late eighties to buy a TR to flip it for a profit, I wanted to try the same thing with a Diablo. Luckily my financial partner was no longer interested. But: Diablos are hot. As are TRs. ...and yes, somewhere in my files I have a valid TR buyers' contract.
Have you been there? How is it? I remember it opening, called and left a message about getting a table for the evening, left a couple voicemails, but never heard back. So I never went.
I haven't been on in a couple of months and finally get to check back in. Well here's my most recent spot. A 2000 Porsche 911 with aero kit in Guards Red with black interior. The best part about the spot is this is at the gas station, filling up, to drive MY NEW CAR HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo HOOOOOOOO! After 40 years of life, 2 great kids, a very understanding wife, and 15 years of having to put a bullet proof vest on to go to work, I said screw it, I'm buying something cool for me! Not a great time of year for pics, but it was clean here! Hopefully, the weather will be good and I can get into it to clean it to my standards (pretty anal ones!). On a side note, there used to be a shop that was well known for good work on Porsche in either Geneva or St. Charles, anyone remember the name by chance? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm very, very ready for that! It's not a Ferrari, but at least the color is close! I got a great deal on her. Low miles, good and clean PPI at a Porsche dealer so I had to jump on it!
Car looks hot!! Btw,half of the cars at the "drives" are Porsches,Lambos and Vettes so your 911 will fit right in.
Neil, Congratulations on the car, it will be great to have you join us. I think the first SuperCar Saturday is already scheduled for the first weekend in May at the Glen. Having an understanding wife goes a long way too when your car has two seats instead of 4 or more! We're all looking forward to Spring around here..
Congrats Neil! That is a beautiful car! We look forward to seeing you at the events this year! BTW, I saw a link a few weeks back for a large Porsche event in St. Charles in July (http://parade2010.pca.org). I've never been to this event, but may check it out this year. Hopefully the event will be friendly to F cars.
I've already got this locked in to go to! This is one of the biggest national Porsche events. Between this and the Geneva Concours in August, it should be a great summer in the western suburbs! Thanks for all the compliments!
