I'll be calling them on this one today. We'll see what they say. I'm currently waiting on 2 other dealers to get back to me on specific questions I asked and no response. Hmmm?
Just talked to Scottsdale Ferrari and they say 136348 is clean and good to go. No accidents. No bodywork.
There ya go, finally someone has flat out lied to you and it was an authorized dealer no less. Good to go? That's why the car was returned to them. Uh huh, sure. LOL. Thanks Jason for calling.
I find it extraordinary reading about this 136348 vehicle and checking down through the carfax report "no accident damage reported to carfax"! Well I've posted them a link to each reference to 136348 in this thread so it'll be interesting to see if they update the records!
They just called back and said that it HAS had body work done. I wonder why when I call and ask the first time the answer is NO. I press them and the answer is YES. I've never had as much difficulty buying anything in my life as a Ferrari.
Guys, There are a few salesmen there, and not all of them know the history of every car they have. I think you should give them a little slack. They did come out and tell you the car had work done to it. This is my local Ferrari dealer and I've had good luck with them on all my cars thus far. You know that there is always a "bad apple" but that is life. Best advice I can give you is after doing your due diligence; ALWAYS see a car in person before you buy.
That's an awful excuse. Let's start by removing the conversation I had with the salesman because that's a "he said, she said". First, the car is listed as "no accidents", "no body work". It's in writing in their ad. Second, the asking price is $149K which is the asking price of every other "no stories" cars out there. If they knew it was wrecked, what's up with that?
It should be disclosed on the advert and written up on the data they hold in the dealership. That way all salesmen would be aware of the issue when handling enquiries. Having said that, I don't see what the problem is with a damaged but professionally repaired vehicle. Full disclosure should, of course, be made. Copy invoices provided for verification and then let the buyer beware! No excuse for non disclosure though! None!
any stories on this one http://www.ferrarine.com/VehicleDetails.aspx?StoreID=19&stocknumber=P73820&index=26&sort=cast(MSRP%20as%20decimal)%20DESC&make=&model=&pricerange=
They're really proud of the other one. It has 14K and they have all the history. It's just higher mileage than the others I'm working on. What did you think of it?
It was really nice.......there was a bubble in the 3m clear bra and the black alacantra dash was a little faded up front where the windshield meets the dash. Other than that it was nice............the mileage wouldnt bother me. I just sold by 03 360 spyder with 52k miles on it. Heres another one: http://cgi.ebay.com:80/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220542975813&viewitem
How about this...... Every single car I've called on on Ebay has been wrecked or has some story or they won't call me back when pressed with questions with one exception. There's a black one listed here on Fchat with black wheels. I've talked to the seller a few times and I think he's got a nice car. Only downside to me is that it has "aftermarket" wheels.
What's the story with this one? Anyone know the asking price? http://www.catsexotics.com/web/1317/vehicle/173553/2004-Ferrari-Challenge%20Stradale-
I took a car in on trade (04 Malibu) that has a no accident Carfax. We ran and (always do) an autocheck. 3 accidents! we also took in a 2004 Mercedes SL55 with a clean carfax and frame damage on autocheck. Carfax is proving to be very unreliable. Autocheck is a division of the credit reporting agency Experian. I reccomend Autocheck to everyone. I'm sure they are not perfect but seem to be better than Carfax
Where does Autocheck get its info? The issue I see is a guy drives his Stradale off the road. Has a wrecker haul it to the dealer and he pays cash getting it fixed. No police report. No insurance claim.
