Recently purchased an 07 Carrera S at a local dealer. Although I've read good things here about Premier Protective Coatings, I let the dealership talk me into using their guy as they raved about his work and Premier is 2 hours away from me. Went to the dealership to pick up the car and the bra had so many flaws-scratches, nicks, and small areas where the coating was not adhering that I left the car there and asked them to fix or remove the coating. They elected to remove the coating. Made an appointment with Premier. I have to admit because of my experience with the initial install job, I was considering rethinking the whole clear bra idea. On the appointment day at Premier I was suprised to see that they were working on 3 cars, a red F40, a black Porsche GT, and a red Porsche GT3. Picked up my car at the end of the day and was extremely happy with the entire install experience including explanation of the installation process by the manager and the overall quality of the work. The manager pointed out that apparently the dealership installer elected not to remove the Porsche hood emblem and to instead cut the film around it (the emblem is held on with 2 nuts.) In the process it appears the dealership installer cut the paint in one small area with the blade. Premier's process sit to remove the hood emblem if possible and lay the film underneath. I have no connection with this outfit, just passing my experience on.

You're right to insist on having it done properly.

I'm sure the dealership gets a slice of the cash for recommending "their guy".

I threw the dealers product flyer away. But I do remember it was a 3M product.

Never had a rock/stone chip??? Wow, that's absolutely unbelievable. Are you sure? I've owned 10+ P-cars, can't imagine that. But I do drive at high speed.

Highly recommend clear bras. They work well.

Horrible experience with dealership vendor as well. Purchased the F430 from SVAG and whoever they used was far from acceptable. Had it redone by Premier and was 1000x better. The only reason I didn't use Premier in the first place was because the bra was thrown in with the sale.

Actually, I was inspecting the front of my daily driver Audi TT (white paint) the other day and could find only one noticeable stone chip after 22,000 miles, with a lot of Interstate driving. The windscreen glass looks sandblased from all the construction dirt on the freeways.

My old Merc SLK (silver) used to get stone chips apparently while sitting still in the garage.

    No logic to it...
