Ipod syncing question

    i just a bought a used ipod from a friend w/ some songs already loaded. I have already "authorized computer". I am NOT interested in transferring those songs into my Itunes but rather I want ADD song from my library. Itunes is not allowing this. Is this not possible or am I doing something wrong?

    If you put stuff on the ipod it will erase what you currently have on it. You can only sync an ipod with one computer I believe. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Why not?......

    There are many ways around this, but why not transfer those "freebie" songs into your library? It's pretty good at detecting duplicates these days, so that shouldn't be a concern.

    If you just want to get rid of them (after it gives you copious warnings!), then simply sync your library back to it.

    That's the way "they" want you to do it - Simple, easy, clean.

    But, as I noted, there are ways round it - See:

    A quick Google for "sync multiple iTunes libraries" will give you lots of info - As I've noted before, to get the best from iTunes you've gotta get your head around what they're trying to do - Make it easy......

    However, contrary to some belief's, there are many ways to achieve more flexibility, but you better know what you're doing (or *your* library can get wiped out :eek:)

    I purchased software that allows you to pull songs off of an existing IPod, add them to your library, and then reinstall the combined library of tunes to the IPod.

    the software is TunePlus version 2.0

    relatively easy to set up and worked as claimed.
