Come on Greg, people are clamouring for you to post your side and right now things don't look good for you at all without it. Just sitting there reading about the continued dissatisfaction of the community and hoping it'll all blow over isn't a viable strategy. Even if it's only a quick note to say hold fire and you're trying to work something out with Matt, I think that'd be preferable (for all involved) to total silence.

I dare say a little bit of openness could start us on the path towards an amicable solution and enable repairing the damage done in the last 24 hours... just a suggestion.

All I can say is wow.

I have always had great experiences dealing with FChatters. It's interesting to me that a long time poster who clearly has added value to the board with good technical knowledge wouldn't just respond and make it right.

I hope you guys get it worked out.

I think you should of asked for pics first as well but I know we all like to trust the fchat community. And Greg you should of been up front from the start.

People are people and things will happen we dont know what's going on behind closed doors and times are tough these days, but this is no excuse. Your playing with peoples lives here with parts like that.

As for people posting his screenshot and time online, That's got to stop, There's no reason for that and I actually think your putting more pressure on him not to post and resolve this with Matt.

Matt I hope you and Greg get this resolved!!

Not only is the FBI on the case, but he's offering excellent advice... let's all back off, take a deep breath, and let Matt and Greg get this sorted out. Hopefully this will come to a satisfactory resolution sooner rather than later.

Is this a 14" or a 16"????

I'd assumed the smaller size, but IF a 16" that would MAYBE get to the amount in question IF usable.

Grind into that porosity and see if it cleans up. The other recesses too.

I'll stand by my earlier guess that this rim was stripped of finish at some point and not reprimed properly, so everybody take a look........that'll be the only good to come of this, apparently!

I think it's ruined, even as a application as a spare....


That's actually a good point, about the Feds, did this shipment cross any state lines???

Thought I'd post this: I bought a spare wheel and tire for my Mondial from another F-chater. I posted the need in the ads, and he called me. We chatted for a while, and he shipped me the part at an agreed upon price before I sent him a check. The wheel was exactly as represented. I sent him the check the day I got the wheel.

That is how this system should work. As for this transaction: their is an implied warranty of fitness for the purpose intended in every sale in California (an most other states) unless the original agreement specifies "as is where is". So, without any such disclaimer, someone owes someone money here.

Don't know the facts, but without that disclaimer, irrespective of the facts, someone owe someone a refund. If indeed the wheel was represented to be in good condition, then a fraud has apparently been committed.

That is based on the facts that are shown here. Obviously, if there are other facts, and someone doesn't want to be held up for ridicule, then that someone needs to state their side of the story.

The fact that the seller has not responded pretty much says it all. In fact my Granddaughter was just sitting on my lap and I showed her the picture of this wheel. She said, "Grandpa there's icky stuff on it". Critique from a 5 year old.

What F-chat needs is a subscribed list of undesirables where all the cheats liars etc. can be listed for a heads up to honest subscribers.
