So I am looking at a 94 ferrari 348 spider. The car was a complete repaint but is a clean title and has no bad carfax history. It has 42k miles on it and just had a 12 grand service done to it which included all belts, tensioners, cam seals etc, a clutch, and some other stuff it needed. I have the records and have spoken to the dealer that did the work, so I do know for sure it was done. The car was repainted and is yellow, but the paint is not perfect. There is over spray on some of the seals around winddows, and the windshield rubber stripping has paint on it as well as some other little areas. Any way to remove this over spray from these moldings? The paint itself appears to be a very good quality paint and laid down well, but someone did a crappy tape job in areas where there were rubber moldings and such. The interior is quite ugly mainly due to them changing the factory seats to cloth momo seats, and made part of the door panels yellow which I hate and would want to change. Know where I can get factory seats for this car? Would the tan look good with a yellow car? The steering wheel has also been changed to a different momo wheel with yellow on it which i dislike as well, however the car after my negotiations is $33,000.00 bucks out the door. What do y ou think?

Price sounds pretty fair to me but I am not even close to an expert. I will say this if I were looking at that car knowing what you have said. I would simply price replacement seals and parts from (Daniel at Ricambi) that have overspray because unless you can get Robbie (285ferrari) ie Stickynomore.com to help you out you will probably damage the plastics and rubber trying to clean off the paint. Finally maybe you can negotiate a price reduction via the replacement parts cost to make the car look great. Hope whatever you decide it works out great for you. Good luck Scott

Oh forgot to mention Daniel can probably get you any parts you need seats or otherwise. You will find he has provided parts to a lot of members here at one time or another. His id is Jack Russell Racing on f-chat

Yea, I was looking at his site and was shocked when I saw some of the prices for seats. What are the odds someone has a set of the seats in their garage because they upgraded?
Id like to find something like that.

Better to pay more up front an get the car you want than to try and "fix" a bargain car.

The price is great, but unless you want to car for exactly what it is (funky yellow interior and all), I would walk. Lots of cars out there.

I don't think the current seats look that bad so you can take your time and find a used OE set for sale. Just like everything a set will showup for sale at some point. Again I hope you get the car you want and years of enjoyment from your decision.

Doc, he's not figuratively looking "at" [read; for] a yellow 348, as he bought it at least 5 hours earlier, which infers he was quite literally looking "at" it.

rhunt Flips cars almost as often as D-Cup

As always, the good *neigh~bor policy of F-Chat is helping others find dealers who are fair and balanced. Nice to see Crown Motorsports may fill the bill.

I see they need to correct their webpage, as it is still listed for sale at internet price of $35,444. No doubt that will be marked "SOLD" soon!

For 33k I would buy it and drive the crap out of it. It has a recent major and is a drop top. Yeah, I am not so crazy about the interior, but I would live with it and take my time to repair or replace those things that bother you. Subtract the major service and you are looking at buying a 348 for essentially 21k, which is LESS than what I paid for my QV.

Seems like a workable deal to me...

    Dr rstrangelove...

Go fawk yourself. What you have just done is a perfect example of what I WOULD NOT expect from a ferrari owner. Completely classless. I did buy the 348 today actually for 33k. I am trying to find how to remove the overspray from mouldings. I would appreciate it if you would not add your negative and un necessary input. If someone wanted it, they would ask for it.

I would also appreciate it if you would remove pictures of anyone from my myspace page including myself. Its childish.

Also, I never actually claimed to purchase any 360. I just inquired about it and some of the known issues, and yes I am a porsche guy and typically have owned porsches. This will be my first prancing horse, and so far possibly my last. I didnt know ferrari owners were such self indulgent weiners hahahaha (drstrangelove)

here *****!!!!!! what cars I buy and what cars I sell, or what I drive is NONE of your business, and does NOT pertain to this threat in any way. All this thread is about is me purchasing a 348.

Dont be such a prick. I dont tell everyone what the hell I buy or what I do with it. So what If I have a 360, or a boxster or a 348. I also have a procharged z06.

You are an ass, and I do not even know you, or why.

Were you bullied in high school or something? Applied for a police job and declined due to inadequacy? Sure seems like it by your desire to "police a forum"

Wow, your impressive, and just got owned.

Odd you love it so much you have no photos of it on your beloved myspace there, Rich.

And you will post photos you took of someone you did not know getting arrested for speeding in a Lambo???? And claim I am immature????

    Seriously... grow up!

    Got to play this now....

actually, those are two friends of mine who live in Metairie Louisiana, and were just playing a joke for one of the audi forums. They were not actually arrested and that is why they were smiling in at least one photo. The Gallardo owner goes by Koko. He owns a seafood company in Louisiana. So quick to throw accusations.

Goodnight everyone, and thanks for the warm welcome to ferrari ownership.

You just have not gotten to know me.....

(Though some that do not even believe in the Christ will tell you I am the anti-Christ.)

Now why does the dealer still say the 348 you posted is still for sale?
