I am looking for a 84 or 85 Euro QV and may have found one in northern VA in the FerrariAds.com. Do any of you know this car and/or the owner? Any thoughts on how I can decide on the car? Who can I approach for a PPI in that neck of the woods? Would Steve at SportAuto be able to help me in that context? Thanks in advance for the help, and I hope to be joining the brotherhood soon!

Tom Jones at Sport Auto is very good -- would definitely trust him with a PPI. I think he's "FerrariOldMan" on FChat.

I have been watching these threads for the past year and I value your input, thanks for the quick reply. If I remember correctly you got your Fcar from Steve and the guys at SportAuto, so I feel like I am in good hands.

I haven't driven a 308 yet but I understand that I will get a bit more room than the 328's I have tried. A Euro QV seems like a good place to start on the journey.

I can't agree with you more. But then again, I might be a little biased.

As always, just buy the best example which you can afford....and ALWAYS, ALWAYS drop $500 on a PPI (compression/leakdown).

Good luck. Any 308 QV would be a nice start.

or a 308 Dino GT4, which is how I started back when.

    Fchip,

I have seen John's car but have no knowledge of it other than telling you John is a great guy...

Around here Competizione would be a very good option for a PPI.

oops, sorry, i should have looked at your profile! i cannot add another car to my Hagerty policy without selling one, so i am "stuck" as they require a garage, and they know i only have a two car garage. in fact, i canceled the collector insurance with them on my 78 Trans Am and went with State Farm. because Hagerty would not let me add a third car.

i want another 308, but the Targa has to go. i am going to keep the slopenose for awhile.
