I agree that not all cars are suitable for such exhaust notes e.g. Porkers or Bentleys. It somehow just sounds wierd on them..

Yup I think it's the age catching up :D

I'm not exactly a Porker fan either, so for me to say this it shows how ugly I think the Cali is..

Gee, thanks loads for the warm welcome guys, I really appreciate all the advice..
Well spreading my cash flow would surely be my priority once I start getting a steady salary, that's why I'm giving myself 20 years before I get a Ferrari (from reading some posts on this forum, I see that it somehow gets addictive). Truth to be told,my favourite is still the F355 and I'm really into classics such as the Dino (i know, its kinda weird since most people my age would probably say they're old and boring). So far the only Ferrari owner in JB that I personally know is the chairman of the penawar group (his son was my college mate), he has a F348TS.

Oh, and about Orchard Rd, I probably go there once every 2 weeks to meet up with friends, so yeah, I've seen plenty over there, especially before Meritus Mandarine went under renovation. Haven't bee in SG for a month now!!

Err,one last thing if you guys don't mind me asking, how old are most of you anyway? Most of you sound like a one stop Ferrari information center. =D

theres a heavy concentration of ferraris n several other exoticars in the palace vicinity i think!

since u appreciate the older ferraris , you probably will find it easier to buy one earlier.truly , the earlier ferraris can cost about the same as japanese cars (n we're not talking lexus or gtr) but u hv to factor in maintenance n getting insurance can be a big problem at your age. how old am i ,sigh , i think ive been working longer than youve been living!

Thanks mate. U can have the house & I'll take the cars! Hahaha

Seriously, digging underground will be very very expensive & not to mention the waterproofing. I guess the cheapest option is to have half-2/3 the flat land as parking then build the rest upstairs.... no need for lifts etc.

Yup,I know which area you're referring to. I'Ve seen those cars in the houses, but VERY rarely OTR..heck, i'll go as far as saying that I probably see more SG exotics in JB than Malaysian plates OTR. Haha, well, the best brains are the most seasoned right, so hats off to you sir =D
But really, exotic car prices here are preposterous because of the stupid taxes. Thank God I'm born in JB instead of KL, loads of stuff are cheaper across the causeway!!

Dude, it is far cheaper to own a classic Ferrari/cars in Malaysia than in Singapore. Your roadtax is far lower & no COE!

Wow, so what's keeping u alive for so long? Winter holiday here? :D

Yes. Classic exotics seem to be far cheaper over in Malaysia than Singapore. Eg. F355s & early 996Turbo are around mid Rm300-400 which is about S$167K+/- while early F360s are not more than S$200K now.

New cars are exorbitant, equal if not sometimes more than Singapore & u have to factor in the currency, income, land prices, bank rates etc.

So, it is only the very wealthy that affords exotics that are less than 5yrs old.

I think it's about 10K for Porsche. Speaking of that, my 15k km 997TT broke down on me! Fired the car early morning & had mis-firing then check engine light so had to limp to their workshop with a trembling car #!*@

    Now, they don't provide a courtesy car for a 2.5yrs old top-of-the-line. Was given a S$160/day for a Saab 93!

Plugs change should only come in @ 30k km & next service is 3 months away. Yes, major components are covered under warranty till 2011.

I had two 911s, an 80SC & a 92. Both used to leak oil & really bad on the 1st one, it also had a habit of missing 2nd gear  both went to KL & back few times but never left me stranded. Wonder what did they learn on QC after all these years.

O, speaking of that. I never asked if Mel provides courtesy car when our Lambo breaks down! :D

QC these days to me is designing the car just to make sure things start breaking down just after warranty expires.

Which reminds me that I have a half-a-century fridge by Westinghouse & still works.

I can't imagine what will the maintenance & parts cost for 430/599 in 15 years time.

I'm eyeing a 360 spider @ paper value. Do u guys think it's a keeper (Coe it)? The convertible top makes me happy but I wouldn't want to know the maintenance though & '02 F1s aren't exactly smooth.

Tim, u had one before. How's the roof & maintenance?
