Just a heads up he loves to sit on 285West right in front of the old GM plant to run laser! I see him at least twice a week.

Yup. Saw him twice this week heading to and from my Audi dealer.

I also noted I forgot to add some pictures from last week...

    Thursday January 21:
    - black Aston-Martin DB9 Volante at the St. Regis.

    Saturday January 23:
    - black Bentley Arnage driving at Lenox Mall.
    - black Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 Spyder on BlazeSports plates at the W Hotel in Buckhead.
    - red Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder on vanity plate RYN KNG driving at Lenox Mall.
    - yellow Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder on New Jersey plates at Lenox Mall valet.

And to make it a triple post...

Got a new car today! '07 Volkswagen GTI. The 6-speed manual will make car spotting a bit more challenging but it's an amazing transmission as manuals to go. I also got it certified pre owned so it's got a 2yr/24k mi bumper-to-bumper warranty. It was hard to say goodbye to the A4 (which had been to 19 states and seen everything from Aspen to Times Square to Congress to Hilton Head, and of course Ralph Lauren's Bugatti Veyron) but I'm very pleased with my new car and I'm excited for many fun miles ahead.

Here's a couple of photos... apologies for the quality but I took delivery at night and was enjoying it so much I barely had time to stop and snap photos!

    :)

They have had them for a while - I found out the hard way ($350 worth) on a new car that hadn't had jamers installed yet...

Thanks guys! I've done about 140 miles in the last day and it's been really amazing. I love it!

The A4 - which up until this point has been truly mechanically flawless - had transmission trouble. It started in July and by the time I brought it in, it had only first and fourth gears. Jim Ellis quoted me $7,400 to fix the transmission (and something else), so I told them not to do the work and they bought me out of it. The GTI was at a great price (I assume it's still on AutoTrader) and it worked out really well.

In the end, a technician at Jim Ellis bought the A4 to fix for himself and give to his high school-age son. I'm happy it'll stay on the road. :)

$7400 for a transmission!?!? or were there other driveline problems (diffs, etc)?

anyway, nice choice on the GTi. I love those cars. but how will you take pics while stuck in Atlanta traffic in a car with a manual? :)

First they did a transmission fluid flush/refill to see if that would solve the problem, which evidently required they take off certain parts that took a while to do. That was about $400. The car also needed O2 sensors - $800. And the bill to completely replace the transmission came to $6,200. That's where the figure comes from. Crazy yes, but the hourly labor rate at dealers is like $120. You could go somewhere cheaper, but it wouldn't have made financial sense even if the repair was half that, so it was an easy decision.

Thanks! I'm not sure and I realized this evening it might be a bit difficult! I'm sure I can get used to it, though. ZonderF did it for quite a while in his old Civic!

It takes a bit of getting used to but it is definitely possible, although since getting rid of my old car my pictures have gotten a lot better.

On my way to work today I had the weirdest thing happen. 4 police cars got onto the highway all with their lights on and proceeded to spread out into all 4 lanes and come to almost a complete stop. They were going 5 mph down 285 and had traffic backed up for miles. I took a picture of the sign on the highway and it said "Traffic pace ahead." Does anyone know why they would do something stupid like this on a Sunday morning when most people would be going to church?

    As for the cars..

-NSX at the Hilton downtown on Thursday night
-R8 and Murcielago parked together at Phipps tonight

Usually it is related to construction down the road. When I used to live at the apartments right next to the interstate at Tech, a couple years ago they were doing the same thing. Me and roommate used to wonder why sometimes there was no traffic and on the interstate and we would stare at it for a little while and around the corner comes cops in all lanes pacing the traffic. Looked it up on the DOT website and its was related to the bridge construction at Atlantic Station.

If anyone is interested, Bentley has a display set up at St. Regis tonight with a GT Speed, GTC Speed Type 51, GT Supersports, new Azure, Brooklands and the new Mulsanne in the hotel lobby. I'll have pictures up later tonight or tomorrow when I get a chance.

Triple post, yeah yeah I know. Here are the pictures from the Bentley display at St. Regis tonight, pretty cool to see them all in the same place

It was also nice to see that they didn't try to sneak in any of the regular Bentleys in with their display like they usually do

I found that out when I dropped by an hour ago. Still pretty decent selection of cars. Nothing photo worthy that I haven't seen or don't see often.

    - yellow Ferrari 360 Modena on Peachtree near Piedmont.

    Monday February 1:
    - silver Audi R8 on Florida vanity plate "VENTURE" at Chops valet.
    - black Bentley Contnental on Honorary Consul plates on Peachtree near Lenox Road.
    - red Dodge Viper SRT-10 on Michigan 'Spectacular Peninsulas' plates at Lenox Mall's valet.
    - orange Lamborghini Gallardo on California plates at a gas station near Cheshire Bridge and Lavista.
    - gray Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 on temporary plates at Lenox Mall valet.
    - black Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 Spyder on BlazeSports plates on Peachtree and Lenox.

    Tuesday February 2:
    - silver Bentley Azure (2007-_) on Michigan 'manufacturer' plates at the St. Regis.
    - dark gray Bentley Brooklands (2008-_) on Michigan 'manufacturer' plates at the St. Regis. Apologies for the poor photo but my camera would not focus on the car, no matter how hard I tried.
    - black Bentley Continental GT Speed at the St. Regis.
    - black Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 Spyder on BlazeSports plates at the St. Regis.

I know, I guess it was gone by the time I got there...I was really disappointed. Hopefully he will drive it again so I can get a shot of it.

When did you guys get these shots?

I was in the area looking around, at around 6:30-6:45. Didnt spot a single thing. Expect for a Bentley at Chops. I was on my way over to the St. Regis thinking that the Mulsanne would be there, turns out it was a one night deal.

Damn, you guys have spidey senses.
