Well that is the state to drive them in. With "reasonable and prudent" speed limits on some roads....

    Yes.

Unfortunately as you can see from the video, some people are neither reasonable, nor prudent.

My thought exactly... why drive like asses in the middle of a town when there are plenty of wide open roads out there?

Is that actually a real F40? It doesn't seem to sound right? (although I've never heard one in person :) )

Sure is, a USA spec with the front splitter removed as Joe said.

Sounded real good, like it had a Tubi or some aftermarket exhaust on it.

I spend quite a bit of time in Montana; second home in Big Sky, and I'd say the the concept of "reasonable and prudent" is no more than folk lore. Montana is just like any other state these days; Highway Patrol is out and actively enforcing the laws. The days of $5 speeding tickets for wasting natural resources are all in the rear view mirror!

I like the scene about .40 into it. You have a Lotus, Porche, Corvettes, then the F-40. Almost like the F-car is saying, "Ok guys, you can have the lead now, 'cause when I want it I WILL take it back at any time."

A family friend of mine has a 348 in Billings. Last time I was up there I had the privilege of driving it a week after I received my drivers license at age 16. It was a crazy experience since it was my first time driving manual. Anyways, he says that his car and a 250 variant of some sort are the only two Ferraris that call Montana home. Either this F40 was just purchased and brought to Montana recently or he lives in Idaho or one of the other surrounding states. I'm just basing this off of his info but I personally have no idea ;)

x2 Lived in Bozeman for a couple years out of high school (worked at yellowstone club [RIP]). I had heard great stories about the no speed limits roads but was highly disappointed to find lots of speed limits.

EDIT: there are quite a few classic exotics living in a certain location in Bozeman.

resulting in most favorable sales tax prices, apparently fully legal

We can form an LLC for you to purchase a car, truck, specialty car, exotic car or any vehicle tax free and register it in Montana for the Montana low license plate fees.

    Montana vehicle registrations are yearly.

Montana vehicles avoid sales tax according to MCA 61-3-311.

The following are the rates to license a vehicle in Montana:

    0-4 years old: $217.00
    5-10 years old: $87.00
    11 years or older: $28.00
Permanent plate for vehicles that are 11 years or older: $87.50

....Montana vehicles are also not subject to personal property tax, because in Montana the licensing fees are in lieu of personal property tax. Exotic vehicles are not subject to a personal property tax just because they are expensive.

    I also found this:

exotic car buyers: it is easier to hold a wholesale car dealer license than attempt a questionable sales tax scam...

Nevada is not listed but is very favorable too. No tax on private party sales, no use tax, and older/yet expensive cars purchased through a dealer the sales tax is based on a steeply depreciated MSRP. A $1M/10 year old car the sales taxes would be about $1,000 if you by through a dealer. My 15 year old F40 was $800 + $35 registration free.

Dealer license requires some work, plus fleet insurance, which can be expensive. Doable but the effort required varies by state.

My family has a house in Pahrump, so on top of no sales tax and cheap registration I dont deal with smog.

    way to go Pahrump!
