Something like a Fiat 124 or Alfa Duetto. This is for an older gent and good buddy of mine. Can some one point me in the right direction?

I just got a lead to a restored Alfa Duetto in Georgia (haven't seen it myself, no relationship), but it's not a "racer". Restored vintage sports car, good price for a full restoration, but into double digit $K's.

Call the boys at Apex Vintage, or Peter Krause. He's a real Alpha Romeo guy. (seriously)

Amazingly enough... Peter was the first guy I mentioned and John had already spoken to him.

Hmm, you've won a race with it while it had a stuck clutch... is that a good thing or a bad thing for resale value? :p

My buddy just acquired an Alfa Romeo GTV race car. Has a ton of spares too. Coming from Italy. I know he is going to be selling it. That could be of interest to your friend, thing is supposed to be immaculate with a fresh engine rebuild.

I think that drives the resale value through the roof. Just think what it is capable of with a clutch.

He ended up with an Alfa from 1979. Just FYI.
