The porker guys that have returned from Sepang (some still in KL) are gathering tomorrow for breakfast at Big Splash 9am if anyone is keen. No drive for us, will just be a gathering. Other makes welcome...

More a debrief on the track day than anything else....

The PCS convoy and a loan Porker coming back from Sepang were harassed by a group of 5 Proton's this afternoon... scary stuff..

Check this out from today's BT
This is what I also found out...
The adoption fee for a PI Ferrari will be $100k.
The adoption fee for a PI Porsche is $10K
The adoption fee for a PI Bentley is $30k
The adoption fee for a PI Lambo is $0... they just won't service it.

Don't let the $10k fee fool you. You will still be treated differently i.e. your car will be parked outside in the sun and rain for a few weeks before they look at it. This is a fact.

Wow S$100K..... glurp. But seriously, I know at least one 458 buyer got cheesed off because of they shafted someone else in front of him & he paid HSM the cheque.

Did u guys see the figures? 50 Lambos in "recession" 2009 & the figures didn't move much for Porsche too! Can't blame Ferrari as new model coming out, no stock & well, agent doing handover.

I heard of this story too. Now that the price differential btw agent and PI car is out i.e. $2k
I wonder if he will withdraw from HSM and go with IA again. I know of one person who has taken back his deposit with HSM and has placed it with IA.

I think with the $100k adoption fee and the $2k price differential it will be quite clear who will be withdrawing their deposits.

Kudos to Mel! I think he has really done well for the marque. Two years in a row that Lambo has been ahead of Ferrari.

I believe its "registered" in Singapore in 09. Cannot be booked, the Ferrari number is too low then. Pretty impressive numbers don't you think?

And what is the point of adoption. If you use Weng's mechanic one gets a turnaround of within a day for servicing... and better quality workmanship...

Warranty claims? On a Ferrari it could cost a lot.

talking porsche mate... reference was made to the 10k adoption not being alot for a porsche.... i say put the 10k aside and use it for a PI cars servicing cost.... very unlikely one would ever use it up on a Porsche...

oh yes, PI Porsche importers cover warranty claims as well via insurance coverage and tie ins with workshops.

So there is no use for the adoption by the agent per your earlier comment? I use Andy anyway so doesn't apply to me.

yep, thats exactly what I am saying bud.... In 15 years of Porsche ownership covering 7 911s I have never had an issue that cost more than SGD10k with the exception of an accident, and modifying a turbo.... so I would never bother with the 10k adoption fee especially with guys like Andy around.... :D
