Yeah, it's called self-induced manifestations of self-replicating, exponentially expanding conceptual project developments Yeah, I know who's fault it is.........
FWIW Techline coatings can be purchased throught Eastwood. They may even be less expensive than buying direct. Ciao, George
Awesome work Mark. I know how those projects go. My big problem for projects is this thing I have to do. A job! LOL Ciao, George
I finally got a liitle time to work tonight. The temp seats are cut to length and I mat a few cardboard templates that I will probably transfer to Alum. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've got a work project deadline closing fast and will have to put in a couple long weks to make it happen it looks like
Not stupid and I almost took a pic showing them in the port. I spend a lot of time getting port 1 shaped so it worked well. To do the rest of the ports quickly I made templates so I just lay them in the port and see where and how much to grind. I'll rough grind all the ports with the templates then do the finish work on the flow bench.
Its a good news/ /bad news story. The good news is the cams are about a week away from finished Id guess. The journals are being finish ground right now so they will be ready for the finish grind on the lobes in a couple days. The bad news is that a combination of increasing expenses and soon to be decreasing income means I dont have any money for toys. Once I figure out the full impact I maybe be able to proceed with high labor/low $ parts, like finishing the ports and such but at the moment the project is on indefinite hold.
Damn dude, sorry to hear that. Tough times all around I guess. We'll be following your project indefinitely sir!!
But the cams are almost done, so thats good. As far as the other stuff, its not really tough times so much as an unfortunate grouping of events some that were planned and some that were not. I mentioned I was trying to get the engine wrapped up by summer what I didnt mention was why, the why is that is when child #2 is due. So far so good but it gets more complicated. I am pretty cheap and Lana is not a fan of daycare so the solution was staggering work hours and handing off Victor and the car. That got harder when I changed jobs and added an hour each way to my commute, but it still worked. Lanas company is a bit slow and they were never all that happy about her being in the lab alone in the evening and a lab fire convinced them she needed to go to day shift .which means about $1100/mon in new expenses for daycare and a car, but its all still good as Victor is almost 3 and its time for him to be around other kids anyway and neither of us were really getting enough sleep the way the schedule was. The problem comes when child 2 is born. Sending him/her to daycare would make Lana very very unhappy and adds another $900ish to the monthly expenses but not sending him/her means Lana stays home which reduces expenses (no daycare) but reduces income more .and causing negative cash flow in either case which brings us to conserving cash which means no toy spending pending a better plan.
Ah, sounds like you're in the same boat with me. Wife is preggo with our first, her second. When is Lana due? April's due mid August. I guess congratulations are in order for you sir!! It's a good and bad problem to have I guess...
Sorry to hear about slowing progress on the car. However on the bright side the new one should bring even more joy into your life than a V12 308!
Wow, very close!! Do you know yet if it's a boy or girl? We'll find out next month. Eh, maybe. LOL JK
Sorry to hear about this Mark. Don't worry guys, after a few years on the side line, I should be starting up my project finally. It wont be as exciting as Marks, but it should keep you happy til Mark gets going again.

Not when that kid turns 14 and thinks his/her "old man" is totally square and treats Mark like a piece of furniture.
Maybe Mark will be lucky and when his kid turns 14 he will be a computer whiz and cranking out CNC parts for his dad's next project.
More likely the kid will be zoning the old man out while playing Call of Duty or some other stupid "game" like that 24/7.
