Well I think the F40's shape is that which symbolizes contemporary Ferrari cars more than any other in modern times, so its impact is huge with many.
You have to check your F40 has performed this recall. As of today, I am still coming across cars that have not had it done, even though it was announced in April 2005, 4 years plus ago. "1990-1992 FERRARI F40 SUSPENSION Recall 1990-1992 FERRARI F40 SUSPENSION Units affected: 201 FERRARI NORTH AMERICA INC Report Date: 2005-04-25 Summary: ON CERTAIN VEHICLES, IN EXTREME CONDITIONS OF USE, THE FORKS FASTENING THE FRONT AND REAR LOWER SUSPENSION LEVERS TO THE CHASSIS CAN BREAK OR CRACK. THIS COULD LEAD TO INCREASED STRESS ON THE THREADED PINS' ANCHORAGE AREAS WHICH COULD ALSO CAUSE THE POSSIBLE BREAKAGE OF THE FORKS"

Going by the black airboxes, I'd say early Euro car. A blown tire can cause even more damage then that. Could have been even worse....
Then he/she is either a rookie or a fool. never get over your head, or underestimate the laws of physics
Very lucky it didn't split the fuel filler pipe and gush gasoline all over the engine....lights out after that.
It came very close. It appears the (rather flimsy) plastic shroud within the wheel-well that serves as protection against such an event is gone.
Interesting article passed on to me from last month. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/driving/used_car_reviews/article6972713.ece
In July of last year, an official dealer here in the UK had a Euro spec F40 showing 13,306 miles available or £249,950. That very same car is now back on the same showroom floor with 15,000 miles for £284,950. Paul
