I MUST be missing something here. Is this for the purpose of "Now you have a title, build your own"?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MASERATI-GHIBLI-SPYDER-1969-GERMAN-TITLE-ONLY-NO-CAR_W0QQitemZ120526539764QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item1c0ff10bf4
    From the description:
Listed in Maserati as a car, not under Parts, it's a German title, blue with a white interior, single picture that looks pretty nice, aaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnndddd.......it's not actually the car, but a piece of paper. Last time I saw this ad, it didn't really say so much about it just being a piece of paper, so I think I understand the last auction "winner" telling him to stick it where the sun don't shine (if it read the same as when I last saw it a few weeks ago).

What, exactly, is this about? Am I missing something? One of the most desperate scams in existence?

Seems to be a total scam!
I was in contact with the seller and he called me. "I am testing the market and I own the car since new" he said! Well...! I requested infos about the VIN of the Spyder (at that time he did NOT mention in his Ebay-ad that there is no car!). "I do not want to give the VIN as there might be people outside who propably want to use that number for their fake Spyders!"
OK, but for what else does he offer now the German title and the other docs? At least he has to state what happened to the car.
Later I found out that he had disclosed the VIN of that mysterious GHibli-Spyder:

    AM115.S.1009

and this car was delivered new on May 9, 1969 to Prestige Motors in Beverly Hills.CA./USA.

No idea if the car was later sold to Germany......!

    Ciao!
    Walter
