Here's a little report on the FOCS Desaru trip for those curious to know how it went. We headed off at around 8.30 am from IA. There were 6 Ferraris and about 4 (?) support cars carrying family members, technical crew, IA reps and security. Traffic on the way up on the B-roads was heavy, leaving little room for overtaking. We reached Desaru at close to 11.00am. Dinner was a lobster-laden BBQ buffet on the beach. On the way back on Sunday, there were some stretches of open highway which allowed a pleasant drive. Happily, there were no real incidents of note. The only adverse effects were from overeating.
to take it further: the manufacturers manage warranty by expected loss and farm out the cost to all buyers equally. SO (expenses on consumables aside) we should track the living daylight out of our cars, since the non-trackies are subsidizing us !! <evil grin>
