Yes 365's had the 3 tail pipes and they are no longer available as far as I know. Owners either wack on a 2 pipe 512 system or go to the expense of custom manufacturing a 3 pipe system. Seat belts were optional in the early 1970's if I am not mistaken. Checking the FCA register I see the Luxton car is the 4th S/N in Oz. There is a blue car that is the 3rd. Maybe you're right!
You know that's a bit like nearly all the OHOS. The only one that I have driven that was light in the controls was my old mans 275 GTB/4. The 275's are just sublime and I imagine the 250 SWB's are similar/better.
cam belts,brake master cylinder,piston rings,valves,water pump,brakes,tyres,clutch,hoses,water pipes. allow 50k.
That's how I remember it; but being 4 S/N's in, now I am not sure. The first car is listed as black and the second is Meldrum's grey car. The register isn't that accurate in places though.
only car i have never been able to drive in one drive Melbourne to Sydney, got as far as Golburn and was worn out,as you seat heat, noise, seat position. very overrated cars. You might laugh but my old Jag kills em as a long distance driver. Next day up to Bowral to look over the old family holiday shack. 17401 is grey in the FCA register, green on that list. Meldrums car is listed as black; but it was grey and I have a photo of it at the 1988 rally in Canberra.

btw, the CTS 365bb isn't a 1975 car. My old car has a later serial # and had a build date of May 1974
17839 is listed as 1975 in Register. There are cars with later build numbers with earlier builds dates eg 17941 was a 1971 car. Don't ask me just looking in the register as I type. THe older guys should be able to shed some light on this????? Can you remember your Chassis number Greg? I'll see if its there. Edit, would yours have been 17915, 1974.
Mine was 17915 and I have a heritage certificate from the factory that confirms a build date of May 1974
The register must be wrong in some places I see one car #18557 listed as being built in 1974/75 and 76. Unfortunately I didn't manage to find any owners of my car other than the chap I bought it off in 2003. It has the car down as Red so I will need to get that amended for the next addition. Its interesting reading.
