Say this machine is twice as fantastic as you ever dreamed when you're done-----do you think you'd ever try and make another? Would it be any easier? Any plans for the suspension?

Sorry for asking this if you've already discussed on this terrific thread.

This project is so amazing I hate to see it go away. What do you think of a Save Frankenstein Fund to help you out? I think there are enough of us here that want to see you finish this mad creation of yours, assuming you have the time if funds were allocated?
We could set up a Paypal account for you and it would not take that many of us to make it happen. I am in for $100. We should be able to rally up some funds in no time to finish this beast. What do you think? I think the automotive world needs to see your ingenuity, creativity and madness.

    Cheers

    Paul

    Concrats :).

Sorry about the project being on hold, but real life often gets in the way of our playing. For example, yesterday the lower part of my house flooded and while that is bad enough, this is also where I had stored some of the interior parts for my Alfa restoration ... :sigh:

I've temporarily moved everything back into the shed, but some of it got wet and thus needs drying out, etc. ****!!! Now Also I need to work on the house for a while ... :(

I actually like Paul's idea about contributions. I was thinking you could even make it something with a slight gimmick like selling shares that entitle the bearer to a ride if they ever meet you. Hey maybe have a drawing for the first person to fire it up and one to go for the first ride!!

I too hate to see it go into complete hiding so even if there is no benefit tied to the donation I'd be willing to chip in a few bucks to see it continue.

Oh, nothing special. Mark is building a V12 from a 400i core and TR heads, and is putting it in his 308. No big deal.

    <grin>

You owe it to yourself to read these 167 pages. It's awesome stuff!

It’ll get done guys, don’t worry. It just needs to sit for a bit right now while Lana and I decide general life stuff like whether or not I should be driving 1.5 hours one way to work every day. Once we have some kind of plan for our lives I’ll know what the Ferrari schedule will look like. If the plan includes a move it could be 6-12 months before I get back to the car while I pack up the shop and then set back up in the new place….I have a lot of stuff in the shop. If we are not moving then I’ll be back you work sooner but there will still be a 3-6 month break when the baby is born.

I’m assuming money will be pretty tight the next couple years but there is tons of no/low dollar stuff that needs to be done (which includes plenty more cutting and welding), we’ll see how that goes. And this will include some cool stuff like cleaning up all the castings to look as good as the drop gear case, cutting the unneeded oil return section off the TR cam covers to make them cleaner and then adding a “Ferrari” script to them similar to the QV covers, finishing up the cylinder liners and the head studs, mounting the monster brakes…..there’s a lot of work and it all has to be done before the car can drive. But it all needs wait a bit at the moment

Good luck with all of that Mark! What was it that they say? Life's what happens to you while you are making other plans??

Exactly. I'm found of saying "it is what it is so make it work"

It looks like we aren't doing anything major until fall at the earliest so I'm thinking I'll be able to get back to the intake ports soon, maybe this week. Victor is missing his shop time.

Laurie at web told me this week on the cams and the week is nearly gone....I can't wait to see them compared to the silly little stock TR lobes.

Wow, when you're about to shelf the project for a while, a key component that's been holding your progress gets finished. LOL Talk about perfect timing...

I know….still I’m excited to see them and to test fit them in the heads. To date the cams are the most expensive part of the project.

I’ve got a 3 day weekend so hopefully I’ll be able to get some work done on the heads.

The camshafts are coming, what else could she want?

Are you saying I should go ahead and order the valves and springs to make it an extra specail valentine's day?
