Anyone found a simple, clean way to keep all of your paperwork on your car organized? 3 ring binder? File folder? Junk drawer?

    Thanks

file folders, kept in a file cabinet in my basement with all sorts of other papers/records/etc.

titles should probably be in a safe deposit box or something else more secure...

3-ring binder with plastic sleeves. One sleeve for each service event (including those done in my garage). I also have a section where I keep information on the history of the car.

Oh, and a picture of the car on the cover!

I use a file folder for all of the hard copy receipts but I record all of the costs along with the milage and labor on an excel spreadsheet. It works for me.

Fujitsu Scansnap scanner. The thing is absolutely amazing. I also use Neatworks software. I type in a keyword, and EVERYTHING pops up. I've got digital records I can print, they get backed up, and I don't have to worry about it. That has been the best $400 bucks I've spent

I scan the documents and store them as pdfs or Word docs, along with photos. That makes them easy to preserve, store and archive. It also makes it easier to pass on to a next owner (Lord willing not).

When I bought my car Motorcars put together a booklet/binder that had all the records and reciepts for my car. I just slide my own records into the binder and I am done!!

File folders work for me. When the folders are full. The old stuff ends up in the basement.

The more organized you are pays dividends when it's time to sell. Any guy you see that goes to great lengths to keep receipts tidy is going to be anal about the car, period.

I use file folders as well. I figure if the folder gets full, it's probably time to sell the car!

Guess it's time to sell my 308 then ;)

I use a folder that is just about stuffed full. I also keep an Excel doc to track it all. I have to admit that I am behind in keeping it up though.
