    Sounds good to me! :D

Talk to Sy (angelis) when you get one. I don't recall any crazy motorized seat belts when I got... my first ever Ferrari ride in his 348 on Friday! :D :D :D :D

    All the best,
    Andrew.

IMHO, I think so few are for sale because when people see the offensively low prices Buyers are demanding, they are saying F-yourself.

Every time I see a 348 in person, I am reminded by just how striking a design it is.

It should demand at least 20% higher than the current market, and I think when the market comes back down to reality and the firesale mentality finally departs, you will see more 348s for sale.

These cars will be collectable one day: (1) they are rare by any other standard except Ferrari (2) there are fewer and fewer quality 348s every year (3) they are the last of the old-school design philosophy (no power steering, etc) (4) they are beautiful.

For those who disagree...know I don't have a horse in the race. I just have a really strong feeling that the Pre 360 Ferraris are going to come back in a big way in the not too distant future.

All Ferrari 348 variants (tb,ts,Serie Speciale, Spider) sold here in the United States have had motorized seatbelts standard since 1990.

Yep, I've heard about that. Were the European models spared the crazy seatbelt motors, or did Sy delete them on his with an aftermarket modification? I assumed the latter.

It was awesome! Sy asked me if the ride was harsher than I'd expected and I struggled to come up with an answer at the time. Having thought about it quite a lot over the last day or so, here's something more articulate: I had expected a much firmer ride than a normal car, but even then I didn't feel like it was unpleasantly firm or something you had to prepare yourself for. The thing I was struck by most is how the car seemed to almost suction itself to the road and match the road camber with little-to-no body roll relative to the road surface, but the bumps didn't feel overly harsh. It was wet/wintery conditions so Sy was taking it easy, but I just got the sense that the car was grabbing at the road and holding onto it in a way I can't quite describe. Certainly it was like nothing else I've ever been in - raw, exotic, and wonderful.

When I get back to Glasgow (~19th/20th) I'll load up some pictures of me moments before the ride, sitting in the driver's seat and looking pretty happy to be there. In fact, I was quite literally making this face --> :D

Careful PAP, you might just be settling down for an early beer one lazy Saturday/Sunday afternoon and the doorbell will ring... :D

Ah, ok - that explains it then. :)

What specification did you get down in Australia? European or US cars?

That is GREAT to hear man! :D:D

They are awesome cars, arent they? :D:D

Was going to take mine out today to take a friends son for a drive on his 13th b'day today. He is a big Ferrari fan my mate told me. :D:D

Sadly, its raining today. That doesnt bother me, but his Dad just called me 10 mins ago and dont me not to worry about it today due to the rain. I said its ok, I have no problems driving it in the rain. But he insisted that we wait till next time when it isnt raining. I said righto, too easy. :D:D

(Was also going to take another workmate for a lap later this afternoon ;);))

Looking forward to seeing pics Andrew. :):)

Lol!! Too easy mate, anytime!! You are most welcome. :D:D

We got Euro cars here man. :D:D

Pretty much EXACTLY the same as the Pommy cars over there. :D:D

This is an excellent write up Joe. To me, it is irrelevant if the 348 value tanks to the $10,000 range or rebounds and sky rockets to $100,000 or more because I will never sell mine, therefore the value of the 348 has absolutely no effect on me....call me a 348 lifer :D:D:D

I have owned many classic cars, mostly midyear corvettes - far more expensive than my 348, but I have never owned a car that garnered more "thumbs up" on the road. My vettes were faster for sure, but nothing I ever owned handles like my 348 - pure joy to drive. I might get "flamed" here, but I would venture that most 348 guys also work on their own cars - they are the kind of guys who can have dirt under their fingernails and may not be able to afford having someone else work on their car. In that sense the ownership of a "Ferrari" is truly something special, and they are not as quick to simply "cast if off" for the next status symbol or material object. I know, if you can't afford to have someone do your maintenance you shouldn't own the car - I've read that opinion here several times - I don't agree with that premise. (Speaking of the 308 348 and 355 that is, the complexity of the newer cars is the reason I don't want one, no matter if they do come down in price). LOVIN' my 348 and she ain't for sale!

After sitting out on the beach all day here in Hawaii (on vacation) I actually came up with a logical explanation to the OP's question.

Ever since PAP released his "Auto-Post Option" as an upgrade to all FChatters who own 348s, NOBODY will sell cuz then they would never have a chance to catch ol' Pappy on his run for the gold in postings on FChat!

Ok...off to dinner now after a long day in the sun. :D

Hadley, are you referring to the red/tan car at Kessler in Miami? I just looked at that listing and their reserve has not been met on a starting bid of $40K. Another f-chatter was looking at this car a few weeks ago, and at that time they were not willing to take a penny less than $49K. So, maybe you can cheer up a bit... :)

    +348!!!

You're lucky on that one, Pap! :) But didn't you say once that your police can confiscate your car for only being something like 30kph over the limit? We still have it pretty good over here, as long as you don't mind paying cash for your tickets. :D

Thanks PAP...I truly mean that, I am so much in love with my 348 that I will not sell ever. I made that mistake when I sold my first sports car (which I owned for 8 years), but didn't realize it was a mistake until AFTER I sold it...I was much younger at the time...I have learned from that experience, and of course that first one I had doesn't even compare to 348 I own now which makes the statement "I will never sell it" a no brainer, but more importantly sincere

maybe this has been said...but there were ONLY 1090 spiders built worldwide 15 years ago! so lets say 25 percent are crashed and totalled out. so now there are maybe 750left in the world. 25% of those are probly locked away in someones old garage and forgotten about so now were down to 500... WORLD WIDE!!

so what 10% are for sale = 50 world wide for sale?!?!
