there is a thread running in the Georgia section. the new owner of the 308GT4 was looking for info. i knew the family that restored all of the Javetz cars, and started a friendship up with them, beacuse i saw all of these cool cars undergoing restoration!

i was 16-17 at the time i took these pics. i have tons of 35mm pics i took of the cars that came and went from the business. the name of the business was J.J.I. Restorations, located on Tybee Island, Georgia. I think they are still in business, but focus on large boats and yachts now.

owners names are Jim and Linda Invintinato. They are great people, and welcomed me as a kid with a ratty Trans Am. i think they were impressed i knew what they were, and the cars general specs. this is when you had to read "books" to learn anything outside of school! :)

I casually know Jay Javetz, and he now has a BB512 from what i have heard. he has joined our car club here in Savannah, the Oglethorpe Driving Club, so perhaps i will see the latest toys he has later this year!

the Dino pics were taken by me on 11/22/1988 as the car was going back together.

the 275 pics were taken by me on 2/15/88.

thank you, i knew it was a special car, but i was young and did not know how important it was to get the chassis numbers!

    Michael

ps, i got a ride in the car on hwy 80 once, i rode in several of the cars if they were drivable, and if Jim was allowed to run / drive them.

I love this thread, so in an effort to keep it going I will share a few shots of 4619SA, a 330 LMB. I acted as an intermediary when this was sold many years ago, and had the opportunity to drive it home from Orange County. I found it to be one of the sweetest cars I had ever driven: handling and response like a GTO, but with more cockpit insulation and more torque. And, depending on one's view, one of the best looking cars ever. Enjoy.

Thanks for the photos. I'd never seen an interior shot and have wondered if the LMB had the Lusso gauge lay-out or not.

I hoped someone on this forum would be able to answer my query concerning the extra stripes on the NART entered car #7 at the 1964 USGP at the Glen. Can anyone suggest another site that I might be able to post my question? I am extremely interested in in finding out an answer to the color of the stripes. Thanks.

The two photos below, most probably, were taken at the Bahamas Speed Week held in 1955; in the first picture, a Vignale Cuopé, s/n? 212 inter? Don't know...Behind the left window it is written "Piloto: Robert Chyung"(?). The Vignale Spyder in the second picture, maybe the storians can identify it...

I own 12659, a 365gt2+2 that is listed by Gerald Roush as having been owned by Harold Javetz 2nd owner after Charles Calvi. If a photo exists I would appreciate seeing it.

    Cheers

Wonderful pictures! Thank you for posting, Ed!
The chrome trim around the air vents... was it original, with 4619SA not being a competition car? Or was it fitted by one of the later owners like Tom Meade maybe?

The first is indeed 0168ED at Bridgehampton May 23 1953 with Bob Yung.

The 340 Mexico 0228AT photo also was taken at Bridgehampton on May 23 1953 with Bill Spear, not at Nassau.

Not all the 300LMB's had the same dash. I have pics that show a single bump around the large gauges. Its a different layout than this car.

The problem here is that the dash picture Ed posted does not belong to this car. It belongs to a TdF, not sure which one - 1353GT maybe??? Best wishes, Kare

You'll probably have to start a dedicated thread, in Vintage or maybe in F1 Racing.

You are correct. In the 3rd pic down you can see the dash is different from the interior shot. Also I beleive this 330LMB has a tan interior, tan seats.
